Alchemy is just chemistry for magical people and is about mixing the right ingredients in the right order etc. In most books, the use of magic isn't necessary unless it is used to create a flame in order to heat up the cauldron first. By the fact Jon's character knew his friend was a magical girl suggests the school is not a secret from the muggles and presumably non-magical males can get jobs there.

Oh Jon. You are shining with your inexperience. Every visual novel set in a school needs a sexy teacher. Even if they're not a love interest. Also, have you ever checked out Monster Prom? Much like this game it's a stat-based dating sim with some hedgehog-worthy content. Unlike this game however (or what this game seems like, at least), it is REALLY FREAKING GOOD and insanely replayable. I'm not even suggesting it as another Valentine's Day special, I'm just strongly suggesting you play it in GENERAL. Also, you say you prefer something unusual in your dating sims. I think a game where literally everyone, including the player characters themselves, are some form of monster or other magical creature would fit the bill.
