When me and my friends were at school in the late 80s, we came from poor families and the latest stuff to wear was Patagonia and Berghaus. So we knew some dodgy older lads who had cars, and we lived not far from The Lake District in Cumbria, England and these guys had a scheme going where they would go and shoplift jackets from the specialist shops in Keswick etc, and they also used to check parked cars with people walking up the fells and if they seen said jackets they would put the car window in and grab the jackets and scarper and sell them on pretty cheap to kids like us from deprived families who just couldn't afford this gear. And I know that's not right but when you are young and in a click appearance is very important, so we used to get these jackets that cost as much as a great TV on the cheap, and I can remember us going to school one day and we all had just got new jackets and looked the bee's knee's and one of the teachers told us all to come into his office and he said "look at you's! Where the heck did you get all these jackets from?" and we just shrugged and said that our (single parent) mam's bought us them, and there was nothing they could do, this was pre CCTV. It made us feel special having jackets on that cost and week or more adults salary, and the benefits of looking good with the ladies, well I can tell you it was great as a kid who got a hard-on every half hour! 😂 But that was my first introduction to outdoor wear and Patagonia.

I feel like this video could’ve been so much cleaner. The whole tag-code thing could’ve been shortened, a side by side comparison of the evolution of the actual brand tag, and a quick explanation in understanding certain time-specific styles, materials, fabrics, and manufacturing processes for the company. It’s nitpicking but a lot of these important dating methods seemed to be either brushed over or simply left out. We know you know so now let us know ya know?

vintage Patagonia is insanely expensive man. I don't get it... Like 150+ for a sweater made In the 80s 90s... I frequently browse the website and they recently just release this vintage looking like crazy color fleece, it was like blue , green, purple... I had it in my shopping cart. the next day 😭😭😭😭 all the sizes were gone.... I called the store the next day and she gave me the customer service number I called begging to get it. they couldn't order it. I called back and she ordered the the retro fleece that was sold out within a day or so. no idea what she did, but I have the tracking number so I guess I expect my fleece hehe.. I'm so happy. I was stressed the next day when it sold out. but now I got one . 130 ...a lot of money.lol

The company is named after a Region in South America shared by Argentina and Chile , we call it La Patagonia , not just Patagonia alone! Patagonia was a fairly unknown brand even in the USA right around until the dawn of the smartphone , you know once the college kids pick up the trend it becomes mainstream . We had a store of this Brand from the USA in Buenos aires since the 90s i been lucky to get pieces from antarctic expeditions to el BIG sur .. never selling tho.
