The problem with the opening hours are the brokers, they will jack the spreads to 20pips to keep traders out of the money.

On gaps, I look for that first retracement to get involved and then start trading flags. If that gap fills in the first hour, I'm out. I don't range trade very well:) But I may start trying to trade the first 30 minutes and see what happens.

If there's some important news over night or a weekend would UK or US traders get up in the night or early morning and use Tokyo to trade or do they have to wait for their respective US or UK markets to open?

Why does the 3pm UK/11am New York time have a reversal? I noticed this with forex a lot, especially risk off. So if you're short EUR/USD from the DAX open, it has to be liquidated at that time or it'll reverse. Is it because London banks liquidate FX then?

Good question, I suspect it’s one of those things that could be attributed to a variety of things: I used to think it was algos being switched on after the open when the volume has thickened up. Or the opening orders have all been filled and now the true direction starts to be revealed. But nevertheless it’s worth keeping an eye on.

Is the stock is strong enough there may not be a reversal. I've seen stocks trend up all day. RBZ was one I believe.
