Normally when you use steam irons for a long period of time, they develop a problem where the pores get choked with calcium, it is very difficult to remove this calcium from the holes.

The instructions say you need to shake it until all the water pours out.. so depending on how had your water is, you really need to do this to make sure all the deposits get dislodged and get out of the iron.

Karen Omrany The steam irons drip water when the holes in the soleplate are blocked and steam can't come out properly. You need to de-scale your iron. Follow the procedure as explained in the video and it should be fine. If the problems still persists, pls take it to the service center.

Iron not heating up can only be an issue of Defective Heating Element, pls get it checked at a service center.

U can but you don't need to. Philips recommends to use the De-scaling feature once every 2-3 months basis the water quality in your area. you don't need to do it every time you use the iron

After the calc clean process... 1. Plug in the iron. Let the iron heat up to let the soleplate dry 2. Unplug the iron when the temperature light goes out 3. Move the iron gently over a piece of cloth to remove any water strains on the soleplate 4. Let the iron cool down before you store it
