Shared this with my kids -- who are always too lazy to read rulebooks. Good brief intro to the universe and the rules. We're coming from 40k, so I'm starting them with Firefight and adding in DeadZone later, which was weird because I rediscovered Warpath when I was looking for an alternative to Kill Team and found DeadZone, and also because it would have been much less expensive to start with DeadZone than asking them which factions they wanted and making it early Christmas, so I had to by both of them a Strike Force when one of them picked a faction not in a starter box, and then I coulnd't pick an army, so i got two, and then I had to buy terrain and dice and rulebooks seperately, and then I got the month wrong somehow when looking at my upcoming bills, so i went overbudget. And then of course there's no instructions and i think I have a couple of miscasts and a missing part or two, so of course the one guy in the whole company who answers emails is on vacation. But its fine because I also just recently discovred that even a dull hobby knife can manage to cut. So I won't be building models for the next couple days while my finger knits itself properly. I got all the Forge Fathers and Asterians built, at least, and hoping my oldest can be trusted with a hobby knife to build her own Marauders this weekend. She works with a kitchen knife, so maybe. But the two use quite different skills.

Now thanks to you I know more plus, I learned a few things about how to play the game. I am very excited to be playing this tabletop skirmish now. Great video and lots of stuff you covered. But I know you didn't go through every single detail, but only thing is cube measuring is something I'll have to get use to. Like climbing and going up stairs and such. Also having if there isn't a clear gride on the terrain how do you play on that?

Well you need a grid on the ground level at least, the terrain doesn’t have to fit into the cubes exactly (obviously it works better when it does) but you need a grid on the floor for ease of gameplay

That’s so excellent to hear! Deadzone is the best rule set, it doesn’t get in the way of itself. That’s the official terrain from my personal collection there at the end, it’s awesome stuff

Can you use other terrain with this or does the "square movement thing" make that difficult? I have Battlesystems and Tinkerturf terrain.

@@arthurmensing3869 I’ve tried to use battle systems and it works well enough but I highly recommend terrain that fits the 3x3 grid. You don’t have to use the official stuff but the better it fits in the grid system the better it will work

Love your terrain! I already got the Terrain from the 3rd Edition Starter box and the Gang Warzone. Now I was wondering if its worth it to get more of the Starter Box terrain to get a similar "Cyberpunk" vibe like you got.

I need to get back into Mantic Gaming and Deadzone, did they change the Orders dice that we need to buy new ones, or are our old ones still good?

If you have command dice they have always been the same, only change rules wise is you can use any dice to make a single D8 reroll regardless of what symbol is rolled

Hey, since you are the Mantic Games expert, I have a Dreadball2 question, is there anyway to block someone from trying to score a target hex by standing in the target hex, or in the way of the target hex?

00:56 I loved the mission cards, having asymmetrical objectives gave each faction more flavor :( Though most of my games were plague against Enforcers and almost all the missions being kill based wasn't great haha

There are a few missions in 3rd edition that are more attacker/defender where objectives are slightly different depending on what side of the table you are on. It might be fun to bust out the ol version 1 mission cards sometime just to switch it up and see how it goes though…

Longtime Rebs player here. Totally agree that the faction was absolute hot garbage in first edition, I think I had a winrate of maybe 10%. Second edition was just overpowered, my winrate has been something like 85-90%. After seeing the nerfs in third edition, I expect that number to plummet - hopefully to a reasonable level.

I loved them in 1st, really changed my playstyle to full on objective play, which I'm glad for. But it was a crazy uphill battle xD in 2nd a few units were just outperforming, which made them an overall really strong faction (together with many options). Now throughout the faction things should be way more balanced, nerfing them overall because of getting rid of the spikes, but for the better. At some point I want to try out a Zee rush...! Loved them in 1st, never took them in 2nd :( And, fitting the video here: "Ah, you're a man of culture aswell!"
