The more I look at this the more I feel like POTA is probably the bad way to start CW. You end up getting the spotlight, the expectation of delivering these contacts and many of them too. I'll do one contact and then sit in a corner of the room to reflect on why do I want to inflict myself so much pain for an hour before I start again hahaha It's so cool however to see how you do it. Something to look forward to. Thanks for the videos!

Chasing POTA in CW is a great way to get over keyfright. The pile-ups for chasers can be intimidating, but youi can learn to handle them with Morserunner. 73 de PE1EEC/PE6X

Jonathan, it's actually a great way to start, particularly when you're QRP. Øystein, like other KZbin creators gets extra attention because of his channel. That of course pulls in some really poor operators like ON4ON, smashing along at an inappropriate speed with all the errors. Your country will also make a difference... give it a go, we look forward to working you.

@@CiemonDunville That's an inappropriate comment about Danny. I am not a KZbinr, but work him frequently on my activations. He is an avid chaser, and not here to hear himself on a KZbin video.

@@taekehfI didn't suggest he made the contact to be seen on KZbin I said that he was "smashing along at an inappropriate speed with all the errors". Watch the video again, bearing in mind that the speed is set by the activating station, he was probably 10wpm faster, with a number of errors. Responding to an activator at their speed helps them to confirm the contact, and doesn't lose them in a blur of CW that they can't read; anything else is just a poor show.

Hunting pota is a great starter. Activating is more of a challange, but you learn a lot by the challange!

Øystein all that power is pulling in more LIDS, but you've learned to deal with it. Great progress. 73 de G0TRT

Yes, I must admit the big batteries was only for show. Did use my 9ah lifepo. Usualy starts low and then turn up the power when the initial pilup dies down to extend my reach.. If I remember correctly 15-35watts
