I go everywhere where I get invited to because I don't want to miss out on anything and be the one who didn't hear the conversation or see the cool thing that happened. This just leads to me being always out late and feeling drained of energy at the end of the day because I have no time to relax by myself.

I've severe fomo. So much that i can't focus on real things, always on social media because i don't want to miss out on anything and it's affecting my health and academics very bad

I have had very bad FOMO for a few months now, all week I’m fine because I feel like everyone else is also not doing anything special. But then the weekend comes and I feel this pressure of going out because I would miss so much if I didn’t. And every single Friday and Saturday night when I can’t go out, I end up crying and feeling so alone I can’t even describe it when I look at other peoples stories on Instagram. Especially when I see someone I like and I think all the people he met that might and talked to ,instead of me I also get bad FOMO thinking of people living in big cities who experience so many things and see so many people everyday while I am here in my small town full of old people and nothing ever happens

I go everywhere I am invited to... But when I see all my friends partying with my "friends" I get upset... I put everything down and just watch TV or a movie. But it is still stuck in my head thinking about it and I just can't escape that thought and feeling... I just don't even know what to do anymore and it sucks!

For example... I am writing on new year's eve and all my friends are at another "friend" of mines house partying but I am stuck at my house all alone... nobody in my house is sick or quarantine, I just simply didn't get invited for unknown reasons. and it 100% sucks.

I needed to watch this!! I've also discovered another form or FOMO during this social isolation season. FOMO of information, news and trends. Wanting to not miss everything that's trending online. Every day. And your advice still applies to controlling this kind of FOMO too

That is one theory for how FOMO originated, but it's a theory, not a fact, like most things we try to explain but were never around to see
@Inerize
@Inerize 3 жыл бұрын
Yup, that's true. Anyways, we don't need to resort to evolutionary psychology to explain FOMO imo. We are social animals and in the social matrix we live in, FOMO is a natural consequence.

One thing about fomo is that i developed it last year due to losing my school hotspot, and not having wifi, it cause me to feel fomo after not being able to join my friends in vrchat anymore. We do talk on discord but the problem is that im often not talked to on discord anymore due to them burning out on discord. I just want to be with my friends in vrchat again but i cant. But i hope this video helps me, ill update if it does. But yeah, Hope everyone has a good day and ill be okay

@RW1A

@@rukhsanamanzar3225 well, 8 months ago things seemingly would get worse. We lost our house and had to find a place to live, money was tight and i had questionable times with my friendships. But, to inform you i am doing so much better now. We found a camper and moved into property we own with our family and plan to put a trailer out there. I also landed a job which has helped and my friendship with all of my friends has gotten so much better due to moving out at my families property, which has wifi, so ive been able to talk to my friends more often. While i get a few small feelings of Fomo, i dont get it bad anymore and for the most part, its on me if i was to get it. So overall ive done better now and id say, videos pretty good. I kinda forgot about it until you mentioned it, but don't worry, im doing great. Thank you for reminding me about this

@Inerize
@Inerize 3 жыл бұрын
Muchas gracias!
