agree with some aspects of this.. but there are also some deliberately obnoxious spiteful people who go out of their way to be frustrating no matter how much we have helped them cos they r harbouring some resentment toward us.

Ya my step daughter is harbouring resentment towards me she is 23 and causing me heartache ...My son at 37 can also be a know it all and carries a sense of superiority it really frustrates me but I bite my tongue more than I say something but when I say something I usually say too much it's hurtful all the way around ...I'm pretty good natured and have a good sense of humor ...but lately I am feeling down and been dealing with this for awhile now if I remove them out of my life I will be so Loney as I'm sure they will go to the extreme and cut me out completely....it's a dam if you do and dam if you don't ...hard to let go and walk around avoiding and make yourself not noticed ....really is hurtful....

cant help but i think this message is kinda dangerous - because it basically invites people to emotionally abuse and use you while you say yourself: "UNDERSTAND THEM". i did this as good as i could for years and it left my mind pretty bruised...

Agreed. Are you supposed to stand there while they verbally punch you in the face and think to yourself, "It's OK, maybe they're just having a bad day?" Never worked for me until I started fighting back.

Actually i think what he meant was first communicate your intentions clearly...patiently tell the people who frustrate you that it is not the right thing to do...if they are not ready to listen, then yes its time to fight back or cut loose...i am an introvert myself so i know its really tough to communicate but somehow thats what u gotta do

I don't believe in always appealing to a person's better nature because they might not have one. I carry myself with basic positivity but if someone is a dangerous amoral adversary, I'm not above giving them a taste of their own medicine in spades. "We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm." It's not nice but that's the way a lot of the world is. You have to be tough as well as kind and sometimes that means you have to end up dealing with some nasty stuff. That's life.

I admire your trust in humanity, but in my experience I found that at work some people are just deeply dishonest and greed and they don't give a fig to run over other people and ruin other people's careers if this can help them to get ahead and make more money. And they have a perfectly smoot life at home. I am sorry to say that, but some people are just really ugly, and that is the reality in which we live.

I'm a person who frustrates people mostly because I over-explain. You just clarified why I always feel the need to explain my thought sequence. I always just want people to understand. The people that get frustrated with me about it are the people who just don't want to understand, they just want things to go the way they want them to go. Thank you for another great point, as always. I've yet to hear one "speech" that I don't agree with.

I told her many times what I needed from her when I shared my day story at work, with people etc was to listen without rescuing, judgements, opinions; just listen. I even had to break down into small bits for her to understand my need but she continued to struggle to listen and reflect without rescuing. We went couple counselling and still didn't work. I left after 9 years!

This is advise that’s slightly off centre, never ever let someone abuse you,or allow them too much room for them to go on destroying you. The best way to help them is walk away and say this isn’t right. Plus you can often tell someone the truth but are they ready to here it. These are the profound questions that this guy is overlooking. It’s not for you to fix people it’s for people to realise all by them selves opps! I need to fix myself.

Thank you for this. I must admit, I'm usually patient and understanding, but some people seem to operate on a different level and stubbornly don't want to be helped and that tests the patience of a saint. There's caring and then there's tolerating someone at the cost of one's own sanity.

Brandon a personal thank you for this messages. Today I praised God to give me back my good will to do things, in the latest days I was getting idle. For some reason, and I don't know how, I found your video about "successfull people thoughts", I really felt what you said so I opened your profile and clicked on this video, I felt it directed to me. So a deep, deep thank you for doing this for us humanity, we really need someone to remember us certain things which are stored in our heart, but we like to bypass them somehow. Today I finally finished the lyrics of my first song, which maybe I will put on youtube one day. This is what I will do. Music, I am a piano player and composer, and I will to everything it's needed to fullfil my dreams. Thank you so much for your speech, I subscribed, you deserve attention because you really carry the power of Love and Unity, and it's extremely important during this time of passage of human consciousness. If you will need original musics made with heart for your videos, or anything in your life... you know there is a young soul in Rome, Italy, who would be honored to cooperate with you, brother. I wish you the best in your life, much Love and deep Thanks !!! Mario.

It's more of a case by case basis. I have found that many people will state up front why they are frustrated and they are easier to work with. Communication is key. The ones that do not state why they are frustrated and act like entitled children need to check their attitude at the door if they want the best outcome or solution to the problem.

I go crazy when I'm interrupted again and again while I'm working on an urgent project. I'd love to help everybody but I need my work to be done in time. And sometimes I see people prefer asking for somebody's help to doing something themselves just to make their lives easier. Oh, and there is a colleague who I'd say is brilliant in finding questions which can easily frustrate you. So she will ask you the same question day after day and just watch you going mad. I tried to answer her question as I'd normally do to any other person. But the next day she asks the same question. I explain the situation in other words. The next day she greets you with the same question and you ask yourself whether she has a bad memory or is just kidding you. I tried to leave her question without any answer at all but it didn' t help...

I think the message is not to agree with everbody's bulshit, but just not to loose control everytime.. so probably the best for you would be just to say this person what really you think about him/her, but calmly ... like: hey, I'm glad you always ask for help, but I answered you this question a lot of times. if you cant understand what I'm saying you should probably ask for somebody else, I have a lot of stuff to do myself and I cant waste my time everyday with this shit .. most probably, this person wont speak to you anymore, but, really, why you need such a person anyway

Tough stuff i think you should really take brendons advice and be clear with ppl,, for instance if someone asks you a question try and respond as best to your ability and politely explain your issue in finishing your project on a dead line and they most likely understand and didnt know how much it really bothered you really were in the fisrt place communication usually fixes things without ever being rude,, just think about how those ppl see you as a go to person and look up to you for resolving an issue and youll probly feel a bit better about it:)

I had this lovely conversation with an Uber driver the other day - it was beautiful 😍. Even that day I was feeling a little down , slightly frustrated, and especially in the midst of the COVID flow, it was soooo refreshing, heart warming & calming to have a HUMAN conversation, with a random stranger, with such depth & compassion. I just want to continue to do this , as I did pretty much in my everyday with little moments / interactions -> KEEP SPREADING the LOVE. It takes a mere moment. And if it veers towards something yucky, dangerous, toxic, worrisome for your well-being, speak a word of kindness & leave it there. It’s those moments missed that make it harder during this time , but that little moment of about 20 mins made an impact , however minute, and a lovely memory in our life make up :). It’s tricky & gut wrenching right now but KINDNESS in the smallest of forms is MAGNIFICENT 🥰🤩

That was one thing she was saying was that when she works with me, she doesn't know what to do. At first, I was thinking she should know, she got all the training when she was first hired and all. But after watching this video and your "What Great Leaders Actually Do" video, I can see what I've been doing wrong and how I can improve. I used to let people walk over and become a doormat when I was younger. Now I don't let anyone to personally make me inferior without my consent. The best way to deal with frustrating person whether they are bosses,managers,co-workers,clients,customers or even family and sometimes close friends is to learn to be Assertive rather then being 1.Submissive and 2.Aggressive. I have sometimes in the past been both 1 and 2. These responses are neither effective!! and will not lead to a practical resolution!! Learn the skill of being "Assertive!"

That's exactly why I hate discrimination, it makes me feel so ANGRY!!! because people are blaming you for things that aren't you fault, making me feel like I am an insult to myself. prejudice is just as bad. it just makes me feel resentful towards other people Because in reality no human is intentionally or deliberately bad. you see my ''right'' could be your ''wrong''. a poor person who robs from a guy walking down the street in order to feed his family or pay for medicine for someone who is sick could be seen as ''wrong'' from the victims point of view but ''right'' from the guy who robbed it because he is doing his best and is desperate to help his family. if the victim truly understood why someone robbed him he would understand why, rather than feeling angry because he is too busy focusing on his feelings and being a victim. we are all doing are best to survive. I believe everything happens for a reason. no guy INTENTIONALLY does something wrong for the pure sake of doing something wrong. it's also annoying having a disability because people who bully you or put you down and blame you for being ''weak'' when in reality you aren't weak you were born this disability and having coped with it actually makes you a stronger person than most people realize. your disability isn't a character of who you are, its not what you are, its what you do. I just hate people that pre-judge people with disabilities and see them as outcasts/weak .etc./ shun them because they think that people with disabilities are deliberately acting their way to cause offense. They think that these people are deliberately being offensive when they act like they do. That's probably the NUMBER 1 thing I hate about this planet, being punished by others because you are being Misunderstood, so because they think THEY understand you that makes their action e.g. criticizing/bullying/being angry at someone justifiable. So you feel that being damaged by others is justifiable because THEY MISUNDERSTAND YOU, when in truth you deserve better but no people will never see you for who you truly are. that's why you should always treat people not how you think YOU should treat them but how they SHOULD be treated, because you don't know what anyone is going through. don't ever feel that your action is justifiable because you have probably made them feel a lot angrier. people have their own boundaries and handicaps and you can't ever apply your own onto another person to see how they are succeeding to your standards. we are all part of our own game and have different difficulties than a lot of people.

Today in sixth period I dealt with a student peer (mind you I'm in high school) who was acting like a five year old, mocking me and basically repeating what I said and not doing what I told him to after I told him to stop. and after watching this video all I can say is "you poor soul. you're glad I don't wish you dead now... you'd better thank Brandon for making me see you as a human.." XD thanks Brandon, I'm gonna do my best to see these... people... as somebody going through something instead of somebody who was born to ruin the happiness of others. it won't be easy as you can tell but I will do my best. for the betterment of humanity ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

All of the negative comments about him being too hard or not getting it is defensiveness because the truth is hard. People who are in a good place aren't hard to deal with. Its the hard things we go through that make us frustrating people. I promise if there is someone who is frustrating there is something you don't understand going on that make them that way. He is right. Its ego that disconnects us with humanity.

Dear Brendon, if I could order a cup of your wisdom every morning rather than a grande latte with two sugars, the world would be a better place. Thank you for giving us tools to think, reflect and regroup before judging people. The funny thing is, once we exercise your ideas, those same frustrating people come to our rescue with their experiences. Please come to Oakland. I MIGHT miss a Warriors game to attend a lecture.

I would like to start my comment thanking Mr. Brendon for this explanation on Frustration towards people. I find his method of delivering and sharing his knowledge very fresh and appealing to a lot of people, young and older. I understand we all have to consider other people might have problems and troubles, and all of that, (that is actually what empathy is all about), but in my point of view I have to disagree with Mr. Brendon in one point: He says people are just trying to do their best. Now, I know he is generalizing, but let's be honest here. I have found that some people don't pursue knowledge as an important part of their lives. They don't care for wisdom. They neglect all of this beautiful things, not only it hurts, but it's often frustrating since, as a teacher and also as a Christian preacher my duty is to motivate people to pursue wisdom and knowledge, but some of them don't even care. It is frustrating because most humans are selfish, difficult to live with, some of them are so uneducated that they don't even know about the importance of preserving the planet for example, people who think living in the street doing drugs and mugging other people is an "alternative" lifestyle. I understand them, it is just difficult to accept that we are so small, we motivate, we preach, but humanity's doom is inevitable, so many problems done by so many people who don´t know and won't care to know what they are doing. That's my frustration (or perhaps I can call it, pain or suffering). What do you guys think? Do you feel the same way?

I know there is ppl out there like you mention but i believe that everyone behaves a certain way because of past experiences,, because they are caged ppl like brendon explains ,,because every one is different and get influenced to better themselvs in different ways,, but at the end these ppl will get judge no matter of ignorance or any other reason and the beatiful thing is to see that there is still good ppl out there trying to better the humanity with insighful messages like brendons videos and yourself as a preacher.. Keep up the good wrk!

Such an awesome vedio. I have been trying hard to become a positve and motivating person, but when I face "stupid" people, I just could not control my anger and frustration. So good to watch this vedio, as Brendon said, always remember that you don't know what other people might have been going through their life, just like sometime myself would behave stupid when I was not thinking straight; make sure what you expect from them is clearly understood by them, our words can be so confusing that what you said may mean quite different from other people's perspecitve; altitude is important, we need to help people, upbuilding their confidence and competence, as that is what we would expect from other people too. Always be centered, be present, be more control of our thinking and response to outside rather than the outside world which we cannot control. Love this vedio, need to practise more from now on. Thank you Brendon.

With all my respect for Mr. Brendon, the reasoning in this video is: They are not idiots or jerks, .the viewer is. The message sounds nice, peaceful and intellectual but reading between the lines, the message is empty and is away from any reality check. He tends to blame the person who is frustrated mentioning one does not have patience, love, character, and personality. No sir....I recognize your message is a mixture of 50% truth and 50% being politically correct.

When person frustrates you because he/she is is selfish and if they know that what they say will frustrate you and they say it anyways because "they have to" and you get frustrated, they see that and after 15 minutes they come back and say "sorry", if they really mean it should you accept they apology when you know they will do that again next day. Are those people worth you being there for them and accept every apology they have?

I've watched plenty of your videos and I like what you have to say but I disagree with you here. When it is nice people who are being frustrating then this advice might work. When it is a toxic person who is being frustrating, they won't take you seriously no matter how much compassion you show them. Ask a toxic person to help you, and they probably will, and it will be a mistake. Communicating clearly with a toxic person to tell them what you need, and they won't care or listen, and might even mock you for it. Toxic people don't care about building character and doing their best. I agree that building patience will help yourself deal with these people but maybe not extend so much compassion, as compassion won't be returned to you. I also agree with not controlling everything or everyone. It's better to let go and move on.

Really appreciate what was said, and 100% agree. However, I wonder, how does one deal with someone who is acting up in an attempt to control their environment? A particular example is a man acting up in the workplace because he does not like to work with women. In this case it seems like whatever their background may be, the act is unprofessional. Brendon, would you deal with it?

my question is, how long do we stay patient before we define the relationship poisonous? Also, as these people who take in negative energy, where do we redirect it too? Because I have the patience but eventually when things keep going in circles it starts to add up...

So, what about abusive relationships? I am sure you don't have people in powerful positions around you like fathers, bosses, etc who abuse you, but certainly we cannot just tell people in abusive relationships with drunkards or narcissists or control freaks manipulating them to be nice and be considerate about that person at the expense of their self, right?

What if you have reached out, wanted to help once and again but the other person isn't interested? And when they communicate, it's very exaggerated and nitpicky. Of course, me and everyone in this lovely planet has flaws, but I've learnt that sometimes, it's best to move on in our own personal journeys because some people just bring us down ( due to their own insecurities).

The only understanding this poster's missing is some people are a**holes regardless.. He has a way of making the one being bashed, mentally abused, attacked emotionally etc. as the ones to blame - not the straight up jerk.
