Just found your channel two or three days ago and I cannot express to you how appreciative i am for your channel. Ive been a musician for about a decade now but I'm much newer to production and creating a bigger picture, and each one of your videos has taught me more about the process than all of the videos and blogs ive read over the past year combined. As you gain more and more followers (which you will) you will get more hate, as is the nature of the internet and popularity. And even though you'll get this hate, I want you to know that you have changed me as a musician AND as a creator in general for the better, and that is something that far outways any useless offensive comment. Firstly, thank you so much for reaching out. I truly do value hearing the impact I've made, no matter how big or small. The people who watch these videos I make are incredible, and completely outweigh any negative comment that's left. To your point, yes. As my subscriber and view count continues to grow, my content becomes accessible to more and more people who will have something to say against it. Like you mentioned, it's just the nature of the way it all works. Regardless, I'm going to continue to put out projects that I enjoy and that I believe helps others. Okay, story time… I have a TikTok posting predominantly guitar videos (chords/theory stuff, play-along’s, jams, philosophy and the like) and I posted a reaction of this immaculate Glen Campbell performance playing Southern Nights at a Baptist church. Specifically, I was reacting to this incredible bluegrass lick in the style of Jerry Reed that Glen plays. The problem: after the lick was played, my big ol head blocked the rest of Glen’s fretting hand for that short clip, and people absolutely lost their minds. A real comment on that same video: “Next time you upload a video showing the og version shut the f**k up so I can actually hear the audio you chuckle f**k.” This comment is hilarious to me, but point remains: people are absolutely ruthless on every platform, especially when anonymity is in the equation. And knowing this doesn’t make it easier to not take off-the-cuff feedback like this to heart. Love your breakdown of the three truths and how this relates to our art and the feedback we get about it. It’s about our art, our process, and the love and care for both. As always, love your videos man. And hope this very long positive comment outweighs a few bad eggs who are redirecting their insecurity onto your videos. Cheers Trev

As long as we breathe air there will be people who find a problem with what we do. I'm glad that a fellow traveler can relate. I appreciate the comment, it could be an essay and I'd still read it haha. Bad eggs are nothing to someone who has a genuine love for what they do. As long as we keep that close to our heart, nothing else matters.

your words are truly wise, but i have a request to make, you once made a video about making a indie song from scratch and i wanted to ask you could you do the same for bedroom pop but the twist is not using an actual guitar and using only stock in plug ins or free alternatives, i dont own one and all the tutorials play in their guitar so i just feel helpless plus all they use in those tutorials are paid plug ins like vallahla, etc., i justhope youll be able to do so if its not a big deal. and you just got a new sub :)
