I agree to some of you saying there’s racism in Korea. It’s a problem that has to be fixed and I feel ashamed of those people. However I don’t represent the whole Korean community and we can’t say all Koreans are racist. Racism is everywhere in all countries. BUT it doesn’t mean everyone from that country is racist nor deserves to have experiences like this. saying “your got a taste of your own medicine” “ you deserve it because you are Korean” is such an inappropriate thing to say to someone who has been a victim of hate. I grew up in a foreign country. Racism was bad back then. But I never once said that country is racist - it was the individuals. Do not invalidate my experience just because there are racists in my country. With this logic everyone from around the world is guilty. Also I never said French people are racist. I wanted to highlight how I responded to the racisms that happened in ‘Paris’ because I know similar cases where people get hurt or intimidated that it ruins their trip. I wanted to show that it cannot and shouldn’t ruin our trip and that I don’t back down. I never stereotyped french people or said anything hateful towards the country unlike what some people are doing here. My focus in the thumbnails and title is how I dealt with racism that happened in Paris. And about the thumbnails and title. This is how KZbin works. You choose an impactful incident on your trip and sadly this was one of the biggest - even though we tried to brush it off. Racism happens everywhere and it shouldn’t. instead of spreading hate maybe we should all face the problem and try all together to fix it .
@hernotebook11 ай бұрын
I think you are not getting what people are trying to say. Maybe you are not able to understand but your video title suggests that people of Paris are racist. Also, people are actually frustrated with Korea due all the racism that happens there with the people so people just get offended by seeing your click bait title. I would recommend you to change the title because it is actually misleading. Also, you may be wrong about racism. Maybe that person actually thought that you were Chinese and greeted you in Chinese language. Just because you don't like to be called as Chinese doesn't mean every other person is racist. I may be wrong also. one thing you did wrong in this video is putting click bait title.
@ThizisDanny11 ай бұрын
@hernotebook I never mentioned he called me chinese. you can hear his voice which is obviously mocking the way I talk and he was making discriminative gestures. Is that greeting me? Yes it’s a clickbait and usually that’s what people do on KZbin. Even videos about Korean being racists. But it was a highlight of my trip and I also want to raise awareness because it actually did happen and even though we brushed it off, you can obviously see we were hurt and disturbed. My friend was in Paris for only 2 days and this was the only full day he had. I’m used to this kind of racism - experiencing it since I was young. But it still doesn’t feel nice. We kept talking about it in the hotel, even after we came back. Maybe you don’t understand but when people say “you got a taste of your own medicine, why complain when Koreans are racists, You guys deserve it, maybe it’s not racism” it really invalidates our experience. But I take your advice and understand how this could seem to some French people and will alter to deliver my message without misleading people. But when The victim is saying they experienced this and that it hurt them- others who aren’t related should belittle this experience
@hernotebook11 ай бұрын
@@ThizisDanny i think people told you 'why complain when you are korean' because of your click bait title and accused the whole country in the title (even if it says otherwise in the video). I even thought that way at first. But just because you wanted a click bait title doesn't mean you have the right to accuse the whole country just to attract an audience. It will always be misleading no matter what excuse you give right? I know you are going to hide my comment because it is a fact and doesn't match your narrative here. But just for the future don't use these kinds of titles just for your own benefit because it involves the whole country.
@ThizisDanny11 ай бұрын
@@hernotebookWhere or when did I accuse the whole country? No I will not delete your comment just like I haven’t with any other comments here. because you guys are also allowed to have an opinion. But this is my channel where I share my experience. And as much as you want to belittle this incident as ‘nothing’ and say the rest of your trip was fine, this was indeed a hurtful experience for us and I was glad I bounced back at the guy and that’s what I wanted to show. what you are doing is exactly invalidating one’s experience. my title has nothing to do with my right to share my bad experience. You can’t say people are saying I deserve it because I made this title. I had that experience regardless of what my title was. That happened first. It’s two different things
@hernotebook11 ай бұрын
@@ThizisDanny see how you are accusing me now. Have I anywhere tried to belittle what you experienced?? I agree with you that what you felt is bad but now you misjudged me. Maybe others have also misjudged you by your title. Also, about deleting, you have just hidden one comment so I assume you will do the same with mine. It's good that you have not ☺.

I am french of japanese descent, and I am so sorry that you have experienced that racism in Paris. There are more nice french people than that kind of guy. I was so angry to see that interraction, but there are bad people everywhere in the World. By the way, I went to Korea for the first time in my life one month ago, in Seoul with my family. I really really enjoyed Seoul, what a beautiful city! Frankly speaking, I was a bit worried before going there, because I heard that some koreans dislike japanese people because of the atrocities committed by the japanese army during the war. But it was the opposite, we were admirably welcomed by such friendly, kind and frank people, actually a lot of koreans tried to speak to us in japanese in order to help us, it was pretty amazing and heartwarming ❤. I enjoyed Gyeongbokgung (great museum about korean culture!), Jongmyo sanctuary (there I learnt about the great influence of confucianism in Korea), Seoul Tower, Lotte tower (amazing view!!), Nandaemun market (amazing grilled fish!), Hong Dae, Myongdong and the night market, Samcheong-dong, etc (So many places I wanted to visit but had no time!), it was a total blast, culturally, technologically, and gastronomically! I want to return back to Seoul as soon as possible! I hope you had a nice trip in France. Take care and Vive la Corée!

@@ThizisDanny This is a very complex problem, its root lies in the differences between us; we often cannot find a common language with loved ones, let alone people of a different culture, race, etc. We love simple solutions, this is a fact, because it is much easier to understand your compatriot than a foreigner. This probably works at the level of the “friend or stranger” instinct in order to remain as safe as possible. But we are people, not animals. Racism is bad anywhere in the world but would really appreciate if you spoke out on the racism within South Korea. Racism is so bad in South Korea that United Nations has repeatedly appealed to the South Korean government to adopt comprehensive anti-discrimination law with no avail. I even remember a case from 2017 where an individual from a particular country was denied entry to a business establishment and when asked why he was told he just wasnt allowed. The owner of the business establishment later tried to lie about the whole episode but fortunately for this individual his friend recorded the entire video. And this was not a rare incident infact there are plethora of videos and images showing blatant discrimination or racism against individuals from certain countries in South Korea. Now im not saying all South Koreans discriminate or are racists but if ordinary South Korean citizens dont speak on racism within their country then this issue will never be addressed. Came across this courageous South Korean women in Canada who went onto further explain the issue in South Korean society. She in simple terms said there is a bit of superiority complex, which is even more horrifying. Again im not saying all South Korean are like this but unless ordinary ppl speak up and ask for anti-discrimination and anti-racism laws this situation will continue to persist.

Nice vlog. I would strongly advise you to book accommodation in advance if you come back to France soon though, many places are swamped with the Olympics coming up. Better safe than sorry :)

안녕하세요! Great video! Sorry you experienced racism - some people are just full of hate, but it was great that you guys didn't let it spoil your trip! And so many other people were so friendly and kind, it made me want to see Paris myself one day :) But not before I see South Korea (my dream destination!)

I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I've been to France many times but have never experienced racism, locals are usually very friendly, even more so outside of Paris. That guy doesn't look like a local though, most likely a refugee or migrant. The worst racism I've got was in Australia, even had people tried to spit on me. 😅😅

Why are you assuming it was a migrant? He looked White to me, white people can be racist too you know.

Yes I agree with the racism in Paris specially. I came from Indonesia. First time visit Paris with my British husband had that experience. I heard from British friends about how French treated foreigner tourist who can’t speak their language. Japanese in Japan used to have this attitude. I was hurt but that helped me to understand why. So I learned a bit of their language, also Spanish also Japanese and Hangul!!! You know what respond I got when I can just some daily words? They love me! So they also jealous can’t speak any other language but French. We speak dual even triple language! And your beauty is above all. Take it they are jealous of you to help you to shun me and learn to understand more. Life is beautiful. Oh seems your team made fun of other people? That is of good

Paris in the dead of winter? OMG, I could feel the cold! Spring is probably the most beautiful time of year to visit that iconic city. So glad you guys enjoyed it there tremendously, despite the weather. I’m glad you overcame that incident of racism quickly, but I could see how much it shocked and upset you. Racism always sucks, but it’s got to be harder when you’re not used to it. Coming from an extremely homogenous country, where you are among the majority, you never have to give racism a second thought. I know you personally spent a number of years outside of Korea, Dan, so you must have experienced it in other places. Still, it never gets easy dealing with racism, does it?

Racism regardless of who it’s from or where it happens is bad and would definitely make the person feel bad. Hopefully world is changing slowly to shame everyone who does it!

Hi Dan, I just read your story. The process shocked me too. Such a shame.😔 Because this YT video is so, so great!!!❤️❤️❤️ So adorable and entertaining. Look at it. Think back to your time in France with your friends. Don't let it upset you and don't let it affect you. Imagine eating a crepe or a fresh baguette in Paris. You are one of the greatest people I have had the pleasure of meeting. Even if we didn't talk and it was only fleeting. I saw and felt what a wonderful person you are. A warm-hearted virtual hug for you. Simone

Thank you for sharing your fun and memorable time in Le Paris, Danny. You have great friends traveling with you and make your trip more colorful and enjoyable. Ignore the racist slurs from lowlifes. They're not worthy of your precious time. By the way, when you travel with friends, do you share the costs? Or how does it work? Or, do you take turns in paying?
@ThizisDanny11 ай бұрын
when I travel with friends, usually one person pays everything and then split at the end of the trip. I usually make a file of all the spendings :)
@lightenup111 ай бұрын
@@ThizisDannythank you. That's a great idea. That's fair for everyone to have the same expense and being sure all the receipts are kept and accounted for. I traveled with friends last year but we took turns paying for food and beverages. We offered to share the cost if the bill is higher than what we thought it should be. No one is disadvantaged with paying more than the others. Sometimes, we're happy to shout our friends with special meals too. 👌😊

No need to apologize for swearing! Sometime the moment calls for it! Shame on that guy!!😡God made us all and just look how boring the world would be if we were all the same!! The joy was very palpable and heartwarming! 🙌🥰 Your friends Ceejay and Gino are a mix of my kind - Ceejay always chatty, cheerful, as positive as possible, and excited about the smallest things- and Gino looves to take lots of pictures. 💙😅 It`s so awesome that Paris still had the Christmas decorations on the streets, so nice, right? ✨8:26 One of the "good crazy" Danny moments? Love! I mean it! 😍🫠😂 The racist incident is really terrible and I`m so sorry you and your friends had to experience it. 😢I`m just so glad it was nothing more physically abusive or violent as it frighteningly can so easily become sometimes. 💙 I`m relieved that the loving and kind people still outweigh the evil ones by very far and I pray that all evil becomes extinct one day!!! 🙏🤗

Can you make a video on how to deal with racism in Korea? I heard it's pretty bad there.
@ThizisDanny11 ай бұрын
I can’t make a video of something I can’t experience. But it’s definitely a topic I want to tab into one day. Racism is everywhere. just in different forms. this is just my personal opinion but it happens mostly around night life here from what I heard. daily life - does exists but mostly from ignorant people who don’t even know that it’s racist. If you’re asking if it’s bad as in physically, I would say no. not usually. But I’ll let people who actually experience it share their experiences.
@clifforddang594711 ай бұрын
@@ThizisDanny Of course you haven't experienced racism in Korea because you're Korean...LOL. I appreciate your thoughtful answer and yes, I've heard most of racism happens at night clubs there but I've also heard that Korean people will get up from their seat on buses or subway if a dark skin foreigner sits down next to them...that must be rare I hope. I would not think that physically racism happens in Korea because I feel like Korean are not violent people. I hope you speak up if you see racism happens in Korea, cheers from a Vietnamese!

Glad you mostly enjoyed your experience in Paris and ironically as an Asian-American, I get that our ethnicity is a big target in Paris as I travelled there literally last month. From racism to pickpocketing. Could be even worse for Paris in the many years to come I'm afraid. Once a dream, it could now be drama at this point.
