This was an interesting take. I love your idea about asking your intended audience questions. Whenever I have writers block I tend to read some short stories by the writers I consider the most creative. If not I'll watch shows like the Twilight Zone or Alfred Hitchcock Presents. If that doesn't work I'll try watching literary documentaries, or writer interviews. Lastly I'll switch between typing and long hand and start a story with scenery and the weather after this is set and eventually a protagonist or two show up.
