How could you remove the adhesive on matte paint scout is the process the same

My bike is matte and I just used heat, goo gone, and my fingers to run the lettering adhesive off and clean it up.

Wd40 destroys the adhesive. Best way to remove it. I didn't think so until someone told me and I tried it.
