Thanks, I really appreciate this. I too just bought a mid-range cruiser for the first time and am scraping the pegs like crazy. I didn't know how to handle it or what to think. Thanks for this!

I'm so grateful for this well-delivered video. I have a new Indian Scout Rogue and and I scraped my peg on a right turn yesterday and I very nearly lost control of the bike when I flinched and over-compensated. It was ok in the end but it knocked my confidence. So thank you! I'm going to practise as you suggest to get comfortable.

Awesome! It can be scary when you don't expect it, that's natural. Learning this confidence and ability in our bike is very important. It's ok to grind your pegs, and you'll learn to enjoy it!

What a trip! I was watching this video thinking things looked awful familiar, and low and behold... you're riding around my neighborhood! Small world. Give a shout if you're ever looking for riding buddies. I have a '23 Triumph Bobber.

Ha! You're in castle rock too? I'm actually planning on a good little ride to Idaho Springs for lunch and a beer Monday 7/3.

@@Jimbobbington sadly I have to work Monday, but we should plan something soon! I'm off Founders and Copper Cloud. :)

Good video man and dead-on with using round-a-bouts as the method for getting used to leaning the bike over.

Really appreciate that, especially coming from a fellow motovlogger! Ride safe!

"peg scraping is a perfectly natural thing to do"

Great video man! Glad you touched on this topic. I came from an Fz07 to a scout bobber. Practicing what your doing might just save my bacon one day. Lol @1:26 the bobber suspension does that to me all the time.🤣

A bump or pothole makes you cuss every ride! Haha. Most of my motorcycle experience came from an SV650 with a more sport oriented stance, so scraping pegs was new to me, but I knew I had to conquer my fear quickly and learn to embrace the scrape! Ride safe! Appreciate the feedback!

Scraped a peg and toe on my ninja today for the first time, momentarily thought wtf and then thought hell yeah I did it and couldn’t wait to get back and tell my partner. He told me off and said the road is not a race track 🤣🇬🇧

cool stuff. I wonder what happens when you catch some uneven road surface.. will it fold up ?
@Jimbobbington Жыл бұрын
Yes, the pegs have a pivot point and are designed to fold up if they hit anything
@jootai2 жыл бұрын
Anyway to get more ground clearance, building a bobber myself and it worries me
@Jimbobbington2 жыл бұрын
Longer rear shocks perhaps, upgraded forks maybe. You really are better off learning to accept you will scrape pegs no matter what. They are designed to scrape and fold and it's really not a dangerous thing to do.

@@Jimbobbington thanks, i donno man, ive seen your video and you were barely leaning into it.. sucks.. i kinda want to ride my bobber like a superbike ya know
@Jimbobbington2 жыл бұрын
@@jootai the biggest limiting factor is your exhaust. You can lean pretty dang far to the left without scraping important things, but to be able to lean similarly to the right, you need an exhaust that routes above the clutch like a Trask 2 into 1 or something like that. I'm barely leaning in this video compared to what the bike is actually capable of.

Last week I scrap my pegs just bought a v star 1100 i freaked out is that really normal
@Jimbobbington3 жыл бұрын
Haha totally normal, that's why they pivot! Designed as a "warning" of your ground clearance!

You got to be kidding????? I have 4 bikes and the only one that scrapes the foot board is a 1971 harley fl,makes sense? Its not safe, wait till you hit an irregularity in the road with that little replaceable pin on the end of the peg. My buddy has a 2015 Scout that does it and its the only thing he doesn't like. I love the bike as well except for that one issue. So cool, get magnesium screw-ins so you can make sparks!!!!!

Too afraid to do this. I feel like my peg is gonna catch on the road and flip me. No thanks 😂
@Jimbobbington3 жыл бұрын
Haha it would take an act of God grip that to happen. You can do it!
@1over1373 жыл бұрын
Those aren't pegs those are outriggers! How wide are they? What is you actual clearance lean angle? LOL. There are grannies on mobility scooters going around roundabouts here faster. Well, more honestly there are grannies in Renault Clio's going faster around roundabouts.
@Jimbobbington3 жыл бұрын
Haha lean angle is not great on the scout bobber. I think stock lean is 29 deg
