Kat! This is the first time in 60 years that I have heard the definition of organization! Oh my word: it’s simply means putting like with like! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 I am grateful! Thank you! I stuff things in cabinets, drawers, closets, bins, basement, and garage. This is where my clutter is. In 60 years I’ve never been able to organize bc I didn’t have the definition. Wow. I’m excited to start decluttering and then organizing. I think not knowing how to organize was a block for me to even decluttering bc it didn’t seem to make a difference. I have ADD. Yet excite to clear out and organize. Thank you again! God bless you!

Am sitting here watching this great video with a deaf fiend who is an engineer at Hewlett Packard and he likes how you enunciate your words when you speak, which makes reading lips easier. Many KZbin channels do not enunciate well, forgetting that not everyone who watches KZbin can hear. Thank you.

I've tried to do Flylady intermittently, but never fully. Have been trying again and listening to some KZbin videos for inspiration. 15:07 Yes, I'm an official C.H.A.O.S. club - Can't Have Anybody Over Syndrome. Last week I had a termite inspector need to come inside. He stepped around my two large kitty litter pans with the litter tossed all over the tile unswept and other mess. Face palm! Maybe that was what sparked me this week to begin Flylady again? Probably. While listening to you describe the cleaning of entrance way Zone was realizing how bad mine truly has become. Suddenly I had a flash of an idea. I got up with a Do It Now mindset and now the entrance is clear and swept. The kitty litter pans are moved a few feet away now and more private for the cats too. Now when I have some work done in the house have a path for workers to come inside. Technically the Zone is the kitchen right now. I tossed out bunch of old spices this week and took down some items that were covered in dust. I am using the set a timer method. It isn't exactly Flylady, as I'm doing catchup. Flylady says you are never behind and not to overdo. So I added in a bit of entrance Zone with my kitchen zone work this week. YEAH! Thanks for the inspiration and encouragement with your video. My entrance thanks you!

Kat, we have four rooms. In your system, our office and closet room don’t get cleaned. For the closet room, mostly what I need to do is vacuum and polish furniture. The office needs decluttering of books, polishing, and vacuuming LOVE the idea to figure out 3 outfits with Each article of clothing!
@debbietampasheher36826 жыл бұрын
I am so proud of my daughter and myself. Today is the first day we both did all of our routines. And I even had to work for 4 hours! We started with our outfits picked out for ourselves. I actually put away our dishes that had dried from last night (I usually put them away at night because we are night owls). I did a load of laundry... Really did it meaning put it away after the dryer. We did the after dinner routine, swished and swiped the 3 bathrooms ( my daughter did hers, I did the master bath and the half bath downstairs). We're about to pick out our outfits for tomorrow. My daughter even rearranged her entire room furniture. I live these routines because they seem to just get done, even if imperfectly, without thinking, no wasted will power or brain space! I'm loving this system. Another KZbiner entered a Flylady challenge recently and described the system as "Zones" in a video I watched today. I yelled NO outloud! Lol It's so much more. And... I describe it to others as routines that become habit so that things just get done. I would say zones is actually the least priority in Flylady. Thank you, Kat. You've changed my life! For the better hehe

I create outfits,i hang a pair of pants and the tops that would go with this, if it’s sweater season i pair a sweater, i include a necklace, hang it around the top hanger, and if there’s a corresponding bracelet, or fancier ear rings to be included, i put those in a snack or sandwich baggie and with a large safety pin, pin the baggie to the top, i do dressy and casual outfits, i just pick in the morning, everything is pressed and paired, this also helps you use more of your closet, after laundry the tops go back to the inventory side of the closet, hung behind what you haven’t yet worn. This is retail staging, they pair things to help you, it is actually fun to create different looks when you’re rested and not in a hurry. Each pair of pants should have several top options, depending on your mood or the weather. I do the same with menus, taco Tuesday has several options, tacos, burrito bowls, quesadillas, etc...I just call it taco Tuesday, I make several week options and just rotate the weeks, we basically eat the same favorite meals, you can always go rogue, but at least something is in place. Try it.

I LOVE the comment about your husbands clothes!!!! Mine has collected Harley Davidson Tee Shirts over the years from dealerships from all different states and countries that he has been to or others have given as gifts. They are important to him, but a lot of them do not get worn or are maybe too small. I’m a sewer and quilter and asked if he would like a memory quilt using the shirts he’s not wearing that way he can cover up with it on the recliner and reminisce when he looks at it. For a long time I couldn’t stand hanging up his clean clothes because it was so hard to jam them into the closet, but realized his Harley shirts are important to him and I have things that are important to me that maybe he doesn’t understand and when I changed my thought process on that it was no longer such an issue when I stuffed those shirts in the closet lol

Hi Kat! I'm new to your channel and I have heard of the fly lady cleaning system on another KZbin channel, but you are explaining it so much better! Now, watching this video, I'm taking notes. It seems that the decluttering is one zone, each week, one hour a day. Here's my question, when you get to Zone 5, when do you work on that? A lot of months only have 4 weeks in them, so it seems Zone 5 would never get done. Can you clue me in on this? Thank you!!😊

Kat, Once decluttering is done ( mine is ) what is your approach to the Detailed Cleaning List ? There seems to be more on the list than one can do in fourish 15ish minute sessions. Certain jobs don't need to be done every month, but some do. How do you personally divide the list and come back to it the next month ? LOVE your videos and calm, kind manner.
@jpressleybarr7 жыл бұрын
Okay, the chosing of the ONE job a day x4 sounds ... intuitive ? It is where I am getting snagged but I think I am falling into over thinking it. So, I will regroup and just choose the ONE job for that day that I have time for and needs doing next. I'll try to choose fast as well as work fast ... and trust my intuition. Side Tracked people are often creative/ artistic types and use their intuition all the time .. but I hadn't considered using intuition this way. Peace to you !

Hi Flylady Kat! I just subscribed to your channel. I love the motherly way you have been distributing your videos to us. I have a Question to ask. What if we wanted to start zone cleaning today? The month has already begun, so do we start at zone 1 or zone 2 or is it better to wait until October 1st in this case to start zoning ? Also, did you happen to do those videos where you give step by step on the other zones, or is it just in zoning for newbies? I took my notes I was just thinking there would be more specific details of cleaning other rooms in the home. If these questions have been answered can I get pointed to those videos please.

Thank you for your reply. We rent a house and it's huge. I feel like 5 zones is not enough for our home. We have 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, laundry room, huge entry way, a bunch of hallways, gym, office, play room, kitchen, dining room, front yard and patio, backyard is filled with toys, bikes, etc and a back patio filled with bbq stuff and garbage/recycling cabs, I also have 2 storage rooms in the basement that are STUFFED with sentimental clutter and things that "I might need one day" and a bunch of bins with "I will lose weight one day" clothes and dishes/plates that "I will use when the Queen visits", I also have a cold room filled with expired home made pickled goods from "when we used to garden and then realized we don't have time for that". My husband doesn't help with cleaning or taking care of the kids, he works a lot and he does all the "male duties" around the house. My kids are 5 and 1 year old and I run a home based catering business. I'm so overwhelmed! That's why I might sound bitchy sometimes and I'm sorry about that, I'm really a nice person 😁 and I'm trying to lose weight and go to the gym and find time to do something fun with kids... and my husband is always complaining that our house is cluttered... and we have a big dog and a small cat! HELP!!! 😂
