My friend from the Netherlands is very frugal too while at the same time generous. She always has yummy snacks and food to give. I think it's the culture. The Dutch care less what others think of them than other cultures so they dont need to" keep up with the Jones" as we say in the US. Also very practical culture.

Morning, I found this very interesting, I particularly liked the inventory idea. It's satisfying getting the last drop out of shampoo, etc! ❤ I think you've said before.....shop from home 😊 Thank you

Glad you enjoyed it!

You can decant all the little shampoo bottles or moisturisers into one big pump bottle. I’m even using mixed shampoo & conditioner in the shower both for hair & body wash - so much simpler to have one bottle. Library of Things, Repair Cafes, Tool Libraries.

The soda can pop tab hack for hangers is one that I use. Works great. More than 4 hangers in a tier, does get too heavy.😊 I downszed from a 4 bedrm to a studio = I got rid of alot, but I did have to get creative as well in storage.(My tabs came from carbonated, no sugar or bad stuff water 😉)... As I have continued to downsz, I'm using this solution less & less, but it helps over & over again... I prefer hanging my clothes over putting them in a drawer, except for socks & undergarments.

I found some receipts the recycling truck dropped by mistake. The receipts were from April 1971. Someone in the neighborhood was decluttering paperwork.

@@declutterhub The vendors on the receipts no longer exist, and the phone numbers were only seven digits. We all use 10 digits phone numbers now. You don't have to be Miss Marple to know someone on the street is decluttering old papers and perhaps the shed.

I’ve use shoe boxes for storage most of my life. Have also used all sizes of paper bags, envelopes. My mother did her budgeting with envelopes in a shoe box for paying bills & lay-bys. Best is to try not to buy any more things unless really necessary. Make do.
