This talk is just so beautiful. I love how you are so fully human and humble, you are so truly authentic in your presence. It was particularly touching to hear you talk about your attachment to your dog as you have been close for so many years. I’m so attached to my cat and can’t imagine being in this life without her. So you can be enlightened and fully human at the same time whilst knowing that what you are is not the character. Your description of the ego resonates here. I don’t see ego as something negative either but as you described, a collection of conditioning and beliefs that were in place (although not really) there to keep an imaginary fear based identity safe but what we truly are has always been, unchanging, free, unconditional love.

Lisa you couldn’t possibly known what’s going on in a dogs brain or how much contraction or expansion energetically is happening in that animal.I have seen dogs refuse to eat when their human master has died even when other people try to feed them.I have definitely seen jealousy in a monkey I won’t go on to explain but how can jealousy arise if there is absolutely no sense of a me?Im not questioning your experience but I don’t know how you could know the level of a sense of a me in a dog,especially when you know that the universe can do what ever it likes.

Yeah I have this same perspective. To me if you're constantly referring to a dog as their name you kinda reinforce the concept of their self. And they get excited by saying "walk", they must have a sense of me and time and space. I don't see how a dog doesn't have a me-sense. Especially my parents' dog. She seems mind-identified. She gets depressed. She gets sad and lonely. I really think she suffers in much the same way a mind-identified human does, just not to the same extent. She even dreams. That seems like a key feature of mind. Visual and sound thoughts right?

I've experienced everything you're pointing to - and I've considered it deeply. If you are only that which perceives (since I don't seem to have any real power over what appears) then you are a slave to creation. If everything is just arising by itself within awareness and there is no underlying logos and intentionality behind the appearance, then every appearance is ultimately meaningless, much like the randomness of a dream.... but if everything appearing is meaningless then the comment posted was meaningless and your concepts, knowledge words and sentences are also meaningless. Why is anything true or false if everything is an appearance? If you say "nothing is true or false", well is that true? You see how this house of cards falls... where can you ground logos, meaning, truth, but in the infinite mind of God. From the very beginning there was the Word (logos) and the Word was with God. You don't even know what God is to deny its existence God is infinite and can therefore never be the object of finite knowledge or awareness and it would create a fractal of you being aware of him being aware of you being aware of him etc.
