Don’t forget light colours were also used, beige, buff, mint etc most people had these colours in their homes. So you can get the Art Deco look but with more subtly

Yes!! Here in the US, I noticed northern states (states with cold winters) tend to draw more on the dark and moody colors for this style, while warmer states (ex: Florida, as they have some great examples) drew on the lighter, more airy colors.

Just go look at English Arts and Crafts videos and online articles about people like William Morris. I wanted to buy a Arts and Craft house near me built in 1908 but being Grade 1 listed husband was worried about renovation costs, still regret not talking him into it now, but on the plus side we have stayed in our 1930s home and have put many original features back in.

Such an odd coincidence. I visited the Art Deco Museum in Miami today and recalled how INTO Art Deco that I was in the 1980s and 1990s. Not so much anymore!

I'm not trying for the "whole look," but I love Deco barware. I also have and love a T-9 toaster. I like the idea of the repetitive pattern, but I'd do a throw rather than a wall.

What color curtains would look good for a deep blue like this? We just did our bedroom in this color and I plan to add framing to the upper walls and chair railing. The floor is in a walnut color as is the current trim…it’s beautiful and original to the house so we didn’t want to ruin it.

Art Deco can’t be pulled off for cheap. It’s the most expensive furniture in the history of all Antiques . I did it on the cheap 30 years ago in a living room and it still ran me 25K.

I think those dark coloured walls only look good in rooms w higher ceilings. Can't imagine how small & dark it would look in a mid century track house.

Actually, they can be joined quite well. I never mixed the furniture, but bronzes and lamps can work well.
