Lol. Why would anyone want concrete accessories? For that price you can get the most beautiful clay products.

My kitchen needs redoing. When we looked at the house we were wowed by how enormous it was, until we moved in and realized how terrible the cabinet storage was because of the placement of the appliances. So much wasted space and the bigger the space the more expensive the reno. Oh well, one day it will get done.

I worked in the natural stone industry for many years. The idea of taking a beautiful piece of marble and covering it with a plastic film is hilarious to me. If you’ve absolutely got your heart set on Carrera marble but aren’t prepared for either the maintenance or the patina, go for it, I guess. But IMO, for the money you’re much better off going with something like porcelain or quartz, which have come a long way in mimicking the look of marble. There are also some really beautiful granites out there that don’t look like your typical builder-grade stone. None of them are cheap, but neither is most marble, and apparently TuffSkin is also expensive.

I love the confidence that you have in us all to make good decisions and pick out bedding that will be cohesive without being matchy matchy. Thanks for the encouragement! And for the "permission" to store stuff under the bed... Thank you for being relatable!

Don’t forget to mention that if you have baseboard heaters (electric heaters), the curtains need to clear them by several inches. Don’t start a fire to look “trendy” and gain the approval of some flaky interior decorator - your house won’t look “trendy” because it’s on fire or when you’re shivering in bed because you have the baseboard heater covered with your drapes!

Move to a new place with all hardwood floors. Bought an area rug because... well, you need rugs! It was setting off my dust allergies like crazy. I'd vacuum it with like six passes every day, then I was beating it every two or three days (an area rug), and only get relief if I sent out for cleaning (would last a few weeks). I said goodbye to the rug :(

I love everything about this style except the uncomfortable sofas. The hard wooden arms on the sofas…i remember trying to watch tv as a kid and piling up the pillows on the arm of the Chesterfield and the wood arm was just so hard! Other than that, its the best.

Barn doors,....noisy,... hard to use,... don't seal air movement, light and sound. . A terrible and stupid idea for the inside of a home. Temporary and trendy crap. A very stupid idea. Ridiculous.

Boomer chiming in. We just completed a full remodel of our condo and no tuscan kitchen, no massive entertainment center or TV, no Thomas Kinkade or the like, no floral rolled arm sofa, no pastel. Our taste is mid-century modern, a little retro Palm Springs, a little whimsy, muted colors, minimalistic decor.

I want to send this to the guy who lived in my flat before I moved there. He had a giant halogen tube lamp with stark white light installed in the bedroom. Leaving nothing to the imagination, I guess.
