4:29 this also applies to art! when creating artwork, there needs to be a main point that the viewer's eyes immediately focus on. then everything around that point (usually the background) spirals off of it. thats why sometimes i think of building as art (since im an artist)

The whole point about having a focal point within each room is actually really useful. I never really acknowledged that within builds in general or having taken that into account before. Also the whole idea of contrasting colors like having neutral walls and more prominent decor colors or vice versa, thanks for enlightening me on this!! Super useful tips which I can't wait to apply :)

honestly, inspirational pics don’t always help everyone. in my own builds, inspiration and pics on pinterest just demotivate me and make me not want to build the vast majority of the time. i dont like restricting myself, as i know that i dont function properly with a stricter topic. the biggest and most useful tip is to know what works best for you. this applies to almost everything in life, like what subjects you like. if you like more free subjects, you generally dont like restrictions. on the opposite end, people generally work faster and better with a topic and specific schemes. its so important to know what helps you, but also to experiment if you arent sure.
