Same! 13:26 "It appears there's only... 4 screws holding this in... but I don't know if there are any going into the unit [from the canister]" and another 2 on the front would make it 6. 3 minutes later and we're already up to 9! 20:28 "That should be the final screw." (My count is at 13 for this part, but I may be off by 1 in either direction- at this point in just watching to see how many screws there actually are!)

Ha !!!!! You took the words right out of my mouth !! I’m just going to clean the dirt chamber with a a lug nut brush and spray some winder into it, then take the sprayer on very, very low flow and rinse it out more or less with it upside down. But before I do, I’ll take black heavy duty duct tape, and wrap it around the center intake nib so very little water can make it into the motor area. Or I might even use a children’s balloon, and just tape the rim down. As long as it will stay on there long enough to clean it. Right ? Ha! Ha! And I looked in my top filter area. And it’s not even very dirty at all. And the beater bar,,, there’s no need to take that apart, unless the ends of the bar fails or the belt breaks. Or worse case scenario, the motor dies and needs replaced. Just take an exactonknife and run it down the provided groove and gently remove the string and hair. I can do all three of mine in 40 minutes flat. This guy spent about 7 hours for something he didn’t even need to do !!! But I’m glad I got to see how these things come apart. My dad always use to say; “Don’t fix it, if it ain’t broken.” Boy ain’t that the truth !! Ha! Ha! Just thought I’d give you very good ideas. Faubus

WOW …… that’s what I call a DEEP CLEANING. I TOO am very impressed with this SHARK ROCKET. Was SHOCKED how solidly made it was. Although I ran across one that lower hose had to be replaced. That apparently is a design flaw . Hose spits ( short hose )…. May be just a cheap hose. ..?????

Instead of dismantling the head, I use a damp disposable cloth which has been dipped in a kitchen cleaner and manually feed it in by rolling the brush roller by hand. More than good enough and takes just five minutes or so.

@melaniewhite97782 жыл бұрын
My goodness! Thank you SO much for doing this video!! 27 screws just to get the cup off! That's crazy!! Can we get a video of the "lazy way" you mentioned at around screw 6? I keep the crud from building up too much by giving it a couple of solid taps- on each side of the cup when it's open over the trash can for emptying, kind of like knocking on a door, and then close the bottom and carefully tap the base flat against a firm but lightly padded surface before emptying again. As long as everything is *bone dry*, vacuuming up some uncooked rice can also help knock the built up crud off the nooks, too. For the brush roller, if anyone is fighting longer fibers, hair, string, etc, one of those cheap plastic letter openers with the razor blade in the crook is great. The plastic guide slides along the groove in the brush head, going under the fibers wrapped around the roller, and the razor cuts right through them so they're easy to pull right off.

I cannot believe you spent 1½ hours on this project. I cleaned mine nearly as thoroughly as yours in less than five minutes with no screwing around. First, make sure its unplugged Second, empty the canister and pull what debris from the screen filter you can Third, just simply and slowly flush hot water down the spout and back flush the screen filter using care not to submerge or soak the electric parts with water with my flexible hose at the sink, I could flush out most of the tank, job done. Finally, just let it sit in the sun and dry out while your filter dries also. Just realize, after all the work you went thru to have every facet of the tank sparkling clean. You are going to fill it back up with dirt, dust, pet hair and all other sorts of allergens and it will look nasty very soon. My cleaning allowed good suction to return as the clog was removed and great airflow restored, job well done. No problem, no cussing needed to accomplish, and no tools required, and no letter drafted to Shark for my frustration. Try to apply the KISS principal on projects like this, Keep It Simple & Sweet. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKfEYpKrn917aJo

Don't twist your fi!ters , it shortens their life, use paper towels for final dry, keep the damp paper towels to wipe dirt out of the plastic parts of other dirt pick and throw away.I Liberally spray tire foam , "Something Better" or other plastic enhancer/preserver when reassembling clean plastic parts to keep them strong and shiny and to avoid cracking as they age. Screw holes get juiced up too so screws go in easy and don't strip.

Filters are CHEAP. I JUST bought a set of three. Not too much. Like $13…three complete filters at once. Each time you replace the complete set. The thin felt filter says right on it. Put in first this side UP (BTW) on 2021 models. 😘🦋

Hey man, Nice video. But I wouldn’t have done all of that, unless it wouldn’t run. I’d wrap the the center intake in the dirt cup with a balloon or duct tape. Then take a lug nut 3 pronged brush and put it in the sink and scrub it down with foam spray . Then brush it up good . Then turn on the sink sprayer on very, very low flow/pressure,and then rinse it out, but while doing it upside down. And as far as the top filter chamber, you cleaned it good enough with the damp rag to start with. I’m glad I watched this though, incase something fails. Like the beater bar ends, belt or motor. Or in the main unit. But after watching this, if it blatantly failed I’d probably replace it. I would like to know where to order more top filters for it though. Love Ya Man ! Faubus

Like yourself.... I'm wondering why the roller housing is so difficult to remove, after unlocking the cover, and removing 10 screws. This is insane. Of all the vacuum cleaners I've fixed over the years, this is, BY FAR, the most difficult machine to work with. I feel sorry for the young girl, who thought the belt would be an easy item to replace. This is turning into surgery! You literally gotta tear the whole damn thing apart! Don't take the screws out, unless you absolutely have to. If the roller is gunked up... cut the (whatever) off the roller.

1] This IS a good vacuum BUT the build design is poor from a cleaning and reuse standpoint. 2] As per comments This video outlines how cumbersome and tedious and time consuming normal maintenance is to clean a soiled unit. AND it is very discouraging. 3] The leaf blower guy (comments) has a clue ...HOWEVER: compressed air with proper mask and eye protection would be an initial cleaning tool/ procedure, without complete disassembly and need for a dedicated work area. 4] The video is a learning tool. Most interesting points are especially when the host is surprised and bewildered; i) the redundant mounting housing, motor & shroud fasteners ii) the mini -board and connector in the powerhead- iii) pressed in beater-brush-roller 'bearings' [nylon ] iv)The familiar build design as compared to the more recent cordless Shark units [esp power-head] Helpful but too long. You may need to figure FF editing if you haven't already. And Thank you. this is a youtube video that does more good than bad and I appreciate the 'endeavor to persevere'
