This video is awesome! Your tip in regards to "Hard to Keep Down" where you want to damage Rhino even during the building phase so that card doesn't surge is top notch. I've never heard anyone else mention this and it's soooo good. Ultron has a similar card, "Repair Sequence" and I always do the same thing you advised. Also love the Spidey + Rhino matchup! Nothing gets more fun than that :)

I LOVE Rhino. 1. When other villains beat me to a pulp, I pull him out with Bomb Scare and whale on him until I feel better. He's my leathery therapist. 2. When I want him to actually present a challenge, I often run him with Goblin Gimmicks to give him more juice! If I want him to run with more minions, I go Wrecking Crew from The Hood. 3. For easy heroes, I often stomp on him with Vision and Shadowcat (not taking damage/reduced damage is great vs him, who knew).

I do the same thing! One time I got beat by Magneto 7 times in a row and I questioned if I even knew how to play the game anymore. So then I set up a game with Rhino and won and felt better about myself lol

Since you started with Rhino, how about the core box mafia: being Rhino, Klaw and Ultron? Players who’ve been playing since MC release may be able to crush these villains every time, but Klaw and Ultron Expert are tough. I’m currently running Angel against Klaw expert, to learn how to play Angel. My aggression build includes Bombs Away, Pitchback, Dive Bomb and Boom Boom (ally): To mention a few Master of Evil Minions are super nasty and can cause serious delay on attacking Klaw. They all have hardcore responses Ultron expert is tricky

I love to use new hero's precon against Rhino (solo one handed) to better get to know what the new hero wants to do and how I should be playing the hero initially. He is straight forward, challenging, and still very fun which says a lot about how fun the game essentially is at its core. Love this game!

Very cool, love the idea of villain series. Great point in keeping track of what has been discarded. Same with Lord of the rings, the marvel champions discard pile should be fanned out and easily seen during the game. I always know a rookie player when the discard pile is perfectly stacked so you can’t see what’s underneath the top card.

Rhino was my introduction to the game and I was grateful to be able to play him in multiplayer with my brother. 1. I love that Rhino teaches you the fundamentals of the game, giving you a taste of things like extra activations, minions, and a constant reminder to always look out for the main scheme and advance. 2. When it comes to the different modular sets I like to either throw in Sinister Assault to get all the Spider-Foes I want, or I’ll have Armadillo because he helps Rhino with his tough status and lets Rhino hit even harder, turning him from a semi-truck to a straight up tank. 3. For thematics I love playing any of the Spider characters against him, for fun I love playing Colossus with him. Have Rhino swing on you with 9 or 10 damage and just take it to the chest without breaking a sweat. As usual Nelson this a great video and a great idea to help newer and older players out. Hope to see more of these from you.

Awesome video. Reminds me of Steve’s Villains Beyond series which I believe he has decided to stop doing. My go to modular set for Rhino for extreme difficulty is Osborn Tech. Each attachment surges and just powers him up in all the right ways to beat your strategy against him. The attachments can give him piercing, overkill, undefendable attacks, add threat when he damages you, etc. Makes fighting him seem much more epic.

Nice! I like this new series and it would be nice to see your takes on villains, especially those I had serious difficulties with. One thing would be nice if in the modular set section can you also suggest which mod sets fit thematically

Stage 3: 4 ATK with a boost card can be super nasty! As you mentioned, 7 threat is not much. I recommend Spider-Man (Miles) in Yellow against Rhino (expert) Nelson’s, build-up and set-up strategies are key. He help me on a short video to defeat Ultron (expert)

Honestly don't think rhino needs alot of strategy to beat. He is a unga bunga brute that swings for average damage. His scary thing in solo is this 1 main scheme that only requires 7 theat to lose which makes alter ego sometimes hard to pull off so if your playing aggression or protection just rush the hell out of him. Justice and leadership should be able to casually keep threat in check and slowly widdle him down.
