How to Defeat Spider-Man and Venom Maximum Carnage Bosses - Sega Genesis

I'll show you an easy guide on how to defeat Doppelganger, Shriek, Demogoblin, and Carrion in Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage for the Sega Genesis (Sega Mega Drive).
I'm not going to lie some of these boss fights made me want to cry of how difficult they were. Venom seems to have more of an advantage then Spider-Man in terms of attacks, especially his jump kick.
Here's a checklist of all the boss fights I've covered in this video
Rooftop - Doppelganger (No assists)
The Hall - Doppelganger and Shriek (No assists)
Central Park - Doppelganger and Shriek (No assists)
The Deep - Doppelganger, Shriek, and Demogoblin (No assists)
Fantastic 4 Lab - Muzzoid (No assists)
Rooftop 2 - Doppelganger, Shriek, Demogoblin, Carrion, and Carnage (briefly) (No assists)
Prospect Park 2 - Doppelganger, Shriek, Demogoblin, Carrion, and Carnage (briefly) (Used assists)
Manhattan Street 2 - Doppelganger, Shriek, Demogoblin, Carrion, and Carnage (briefly) (Used assists)

How do I record my retro boss fights?
I record all of my Sega Genesis (Sega Mega Drive) boss battles on my Elgato Capture Card. Retro gaming is a big passion of mine as I still collect the physical copies of Sega Genesis (Sega Mega Drive) video games and I have a lot more boss fights to showcase.
Why do I review bosses and create guides?
Retro video games were a big part of my life growing up and as I’m playing these games at my leisure I’m noticing some of the bosses are quite difficult. So one day I thought “Wouldn’t it be cool if I could show people how to defeat these bosses?!”. Each video I produce will provide a strategy of how to easily defeat a specific boss fight whether it's a 2d or 3d boss. Now watch the video and have some fun as I show you the easiest guide to defeat Doppelganger, Shriek, Demogoblin, and Carrion in Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage. How do you decide which boss to review next?
My decisions can come from the community or what I feel is best to split up the genre of bosses I review. I also have a soft spot for games I grew up with such as X-Men, Tazmania, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, and Splatterhouse 3.

Pretty close now! So far have Mafex Spiderman(comic variation), Mafex Venom and Mafex Carnage, Hasbro Shriek, and now I just need the BAF Demogoblin and any company out there needs to make a Carrion! I suppose I could try customizing one!

I dont have any requests that I can think of, but I will definitely find this video and make a request here if I think of one. Working on beating this game, havent played it in probably 20 years lol. I just found out a few days ago that there was a second part of this. Separation anxiety. I have never played it but am going to find a copy of it somewhere and give it a try. Have you played that one and if so do you have any comparison or opinion on it?

Yup I own Separation Anxiety, it's not bad but it's not great either. It feels like a watered down version of Maximum Carnage. The sprites and graphics feel a bit off, the music isn't the greatest. Green Jelly that composed the first one didn't return for Separation Anxiety. The story is told through text versus comic panels (to me that was pretty cool that Maximum Carnage did that). The best thing about it would be that you can play as 2 players compared to Maximum Carnage. The gameplay is the same from Maximum Carnage, it just feels like they could of done so much more. So I would say yes buy it if you're a collector and you want to experience it but get it at a good price.

I still want to pick it up. Maximum carnage is my favorite sega game for sure. By the way, you can knock demoglobin off the roof in rooftop 2 as well. I knocked him and doppelganger off earlier today. Also knocked myself off the roof 2 or 3 times trying this lol

Great video! I never would have thought to trap doppelganger on the tables in the cathedral level. You said it right, these bosses are all tedious. So much jump kicking on the later levels lol.

I know the game is hard for all the wrong reasons lol The bosses just gradually speed up making them difficult and the enemies…particularly the umbrella guys oh man do they suck lol

I beat this game a few times when I was 15-16yo…. Now I’m 40, figured I’d beat it one last time, HA!? This game is tuff, but it’s still a lot of fun… one of the few times LJN did something that wasn’t horrible…. Wasn’t there like another version of the game?, or a prequel or something.

Man I remember renting this and thinking this was such a hard game. I remember that fight in the cathedral. Was so tough but looks like u uncracked the strategy lol I may get this soon and this strategy is very helpful.... So this is my theory that I would never understand as a kid of how Doppelganger, Shriek, Demogoblin, and Carrion are coded. They have preset movements of just walking around without directly hitting you which explains how I was able to just walk around them/with them. If you interrupt their walk cycle such as being in their line of sight they will engage (obviously). Depending on how close or how far you are will determine their attack. I just found it interesting as I was walking right beside them and they didn't do anything. I honestly think it's timed for every 2 or 3 seconds for them to attack during their walk cycle.

I could never beat this game when I was a kid because I didn't understand which assist characters were doing what kind of damage. I feel kind of stupid in that I didn't prioritize figuring that out, instead I just kept trying to punch Carnage to death more efficiently, haha.
