So just to clarify for people who are confused on why it looks so easy as from the recent shrouded spoils kraken buff and him being able to attack all ship types he is of course very dumped down for the sloop he won’t really be that aggressive and will pretty much always leave about half way through the fight the amount of time he is there will only very depending on how efficient you are at taking down his tentacles meaning when it plays the dramatic music as it goes down however on the brig and galleon his aggressiveness and the amount of time will increase sorry for the mega paragraph I’m just really interested in the kraken in this game and I practically study it

When I see the ink start to form and the music picks up, that’s usually when I call it a night and leave the game. But I’m going to try not to panic next time so I can actually finish a tall tale for once.

I must have killed about 15 krakens since shrouded spoils, I find the most important thing when fighting the beast is time management, if you are managing your time correctly, you'll never sink. The kraken attacks you for periods of time then rests, don't repair while it's attacking you because you will waste wood and be pinned under deck. The kraken wraps around your ship for a limited time, don't focus on the tentacle wrapping around your ship, you lose time you could be using to deal significant damage to the kraken. When the kraken wraps around my ship, I give it a couple shots while passing by but don't focus on it. The worst thing that can happen is being knocked off or killed, if a tentacle is sucking, get under decks ASAP to eliminate any chance of being killed, you can still get plenty of damage sniping from the captains quarters. If the kraken is going for a slap, make sure you are far enough away that you don't get knocked off. It's a very satisfying fight, I much prefer it to the megalodon but once you manage your time, it's easy

Yesterday I had about 50 thousand gold worth stuff on my sloop and I only had 6 pieces of wood. It was also the first ever time I had fought it. I managed to escape and get to a nearby island to restock on stuff. I had no wood left so it was very stressful sailing because I knew if I crashed I was dead.

I fought with a friend as a 2 man crew against the kraken on the first day of playing the game. We didn't really realize that you had to shoot it with cannon balls. Just kept shooting with guns and after 20 minutes of constant fighting it still wasn't dead. Then he grabbed the boat just where the entrance to the lower levels are and we were both stuck on the deck without ammo. (We had 2 guns each) We couldnt do anything and then it was too late and it sank. If we didn't get stuck we would've been able to fight it longer and maybe kill it with only guns, but it clearly is faster with cannon balls, so I have to try that next time.

A week ago on the first day I played I encountered “The Crested Queen” (purple meg) but I went to an island and it went away. A couple minutes later I get off the island and start sailing to an outpost, KRAKEN. I was so scared that I just left the game I couldn’t handle a megalodon AND a kraken in the same hour.

The first time I fought a kraken was when I stole a sloop from someone who burned my sloop while I was selling my last items I had. I had sailed their ship out a bit and the kraken attacked it, but I was less panicked due to being on an empty ship that wasn't even mine, and I was able to fight it off and crash the ship back into the island that I had left my still burning ship.

How we survived it the first time was to stay in the cabin. That way you don't get sucked up. We didn't use the canons, we only used our sniper rifles. One kept repairing and one kept firing. When the one wasn't repairing, we were both shooting. We escaped it. Only wish I knew about raising the sails to get rewards. I'll keep this in mind next time when shooting the roots. We took a lot longer than you did though. Nice video

I could see he was a very experienced player. I think if you were to try it you might get impatient. It took long and your method works and is quicker. Thanks again. I think after the first time everyone beats the kraken they lose a big amount of fear of it

Thanks a lot. I just wished I saw this video before facing the bloody monster. I would have defeated it. It killed me because I did not know very much about it or how to fight it off. It took my treasure from islands, mermaid's temple and from a sunken ship. I lost it all. LOL! Hopefull I will never face it. Oh, and yes the kraken is way better than the stupid fish. I can sink a low ranked skelly ship down, but I have not tried the big one.

Playing yesterday we had so much loot we straight up had a Kraken, Megladon, and Ghost Ship on us at the same time, megladon luckily went away, but we managed to get a rowboat and get all of our loot on it because we kkow kraken doesn’t target row boats, and so we legit had two guys in a rowboat swimming to an outpost and two guys bringin the new boat 😂😂

I started playing the game yesterday, got wrecked by a bigger ship off players playing jhon cena music when they entered and well.... Got free loot I guess? Day 1 not a succsess, day 2. A skeleton ship and a megalodon sank my ship, I sirvived because off mermaid this time I didn't have any loot at least. However I found a treasure map with 5 chests I did get to sell and actully afoard something, also learned how the tell tale stuff works, so I tried that fire focused one and boy... Yesterday I and a friend saw a Skeleton Galleon, we decided to avoid it since we would have had our asses kicked in our Brigantine. I trash talked the AI for being dumb and then the Kraken showed up. After about 2 minutes I looked in fear as I saw the Skeleton Galleon being literally next to us and starts shooting WHILE the Kraken was still there. We managed to escape the Kraken but due to lack of wood and repeated rammings by the enemy ship, our boat sunk. Moral of the story: Don't trash talk the AI

Good tips 🤙 have any for hunting all of the different Megs? I've killed the ancient terror (the yellow one) twice now and still have not got the patch/title for doing so. I've got the hungering one and the crested queen ones defeated (blue and purple) but I'm not sure if I have hunt them in a certain order or ? Also, any idea best spots to find each or are their spawns 100% random?

As far as I know you don't have to do them in order! And I'm pretty sure the spawns are random as I've encountered various Megs at various places (apart from the shrouded one) And I always use the same tactic no matter what Meg you fight 😁

Today I wanted to hop on Sea of Thieves to mess around in a Galleon alone. But I did not look to see if there were any events. I leave Galleons Grave Outpost. Exactly 13 seconds after I get moving, I anchor to see how to deep the water is because...fun? Thats when it turns pith black, and I can't see anything in the water. It takes me a moment to know whats going on. I come out, look down, and see the pitch black water, I look up, and see it, The Kraken.

With that said I personally still find the Kraken to be easier than Meg with maybe the occasional one being a beast to beat! 😁

I defeated a meg solo on a sloop in literally two minutes. Just raised the sail, waited for him to swim by and just before he came up on my side I threw the wheel all the way in the direction he was swimming, blasted him with 10 or 15 cannonballs and he was fucked.

You have to shoot it off as far as I know! That's why I use the Eye of Reach as it does more damage!

Did they make the ghost ships easier? Friend and I fought a galleon and sloop ghost ship. We took the sloop out in a matter of minutes and the galleon out shortly after. We ran out of cannon balls, we didn't have very many to begin with, and just rammed it til it sunk.

Shoot the tentacles, I tried just waiting it out as I thought you could do it, but turns out you have to shoot back! On average it takes 4 cannonballs to make a tentacle go away!

Is there any way of findin or searching for the kraken, so u can like farm it?

The only thing I know to look out for is the skull in the sky above a fort, and also the boat cloud, if non are present then sail around and the Kraken has a great chance to show up! If the skull or boat are in the sky then the Kraken will not turn up at all!!

The kraken is easy on sloops, if you want to get your commendations then just put miles on in a sloop and when you’re eventually krakened, he’s easy!

I think the Megalodon is easier me and my crew ran into the kraken while we had a lot of loot but we ran out of wood repairing and stuff so we sunk that was our first time encountering it tho but on the galleon feels like we need 300 wood planks to survive

What skins are on your guns and cannons and how do I get them?

My guns are the Ferryman for the pistol and I can't remember the Eye of Reach skin tbh lol I'll have a look and edit the name here next time I'm on :) And I use the bone skin for the cannons. The pistol you get when you buy an Xbox SoT controller along with an entire outfit. The EoR you just buy and the cannons are from sinking Ghost Ships :)

Not saying this happened to me but it’s all good fun and games fighting the kraken until a dumb ship goes behind you and starts taking shots people that do that are weird but it is okay in my opinion if you are chasing a ship then they get krakend

I think he lays his head on the front of the ship as well...what do you do when he does that

When he does this there should be a tentacle lower then the rest and sits next to the ship, shoot this and it'll release your ship.

I actually managed to kill the kraken solo without any damage on my 3rd day lol. Guess I'm lucky
