The voyage sends you to 2 random islands and 3 shrines. The shrines are always the same and the last one is used twice. It would have been a little better if the 3 key shrines were randomized between all the shrines. The code phrase at Liars Backbone is in the journal that you have to read for the curse. Once you realize the code phrase, you have to look at the walls for the equivalent skelly code.

I’m one path away from getting the ashen curse. Glad I’m not the only one who sucks at those puzzles/traps. 😅 I really want the sunken sorrows curse but aside from gathering the rest of the journals or joining a crew who already has the quest, you have to worry about someone coming and stealing that chest and putting you to square one… Biggest reason why I don’t have what I feel is the coolest curse in the game (next to the Guardian Ghost curse but I’m a long ways off from getting that)!

Me and my friend found a cheese to the ashen curse, you can all die and choose the different paths to get the journals even if your whole team is dead. The chest is only required once so we did that last.

When I was playing with a friend earlier we just chilled on an island for a majority of the session because for some unknown reason, phantoms, skellies, and crawlers were spawning virtually nonstop, letting my friend quickly grind out deeds for killing mass amounts of them

Little bit of help for others that don't have friends to watch the ship or don't want to watch the ship. If you bring the chest with you down into the shrine, you don't have to worry about your ship. You can get the new ship and come back and pick up the chest that way nobody can steal your progress

Got insane idea, what if u would stack rage chests on bottom of your ship. Than make a lot of holes and wenn it begins to sink water will be evaporated due to chests of rage, u need multiple to have almost no delay for temperature to rise and constantly evaporate coming water

Well, currently on two failed attempts to get the sunken sorrow curse due to PvP sweaties showing up at the worst time and ruining everything. Yeah, you can sell the chest for a measely 250 gold and ruin the voyage for people which wouldn't be a big deal if the voyage didn't cost you 50 dubloons a pop.

I remember when I tried getting the sunken curse and at the first try I almost was at the end but some guy came out of nowhere, sink my ship and took the chest. I had 2 other tries of trying to get the curse and I finally got it after 3 times. Like that was the most longest and most annoying thing I did but it was worth it xd

I really wish they would add a way for players to get the skeleton and ghost curses without pvp, I'm pretty sure there's a way to do it but it's just a lot slower. I'm glad I bought the Dark Warsmith from the Pirate Emporium because it is genuinely just better than the curse but it could be cool to have both as unlocks

I would like an opinions one this. Gold Curse or the pvp curses, which are harder to get. As in harder I mean a few things. 1. How cheeseable is it? (loss farming for about 800 times while watching KZbin or doing chapters from someone else) 2. How hard is it to do legit? (No cheese meaning win as much as you can and do that Tales form the start for all 5) 3. What skills do you need to complete the tasks to obtain the item? (PvP skills or general Tall Tale knowledge) 4. How RNG based are the tasks to obtain the item? (Good matchmaking or no one rolling up and stealing your Tall Tale item) Personally I think this one is a bit iffy. You could argue that while getting gold curse takes ages getting one of the pvp curse could take way longer if you’re bad at pvp. My only qualms with that is that loss farming is way more cheese than getting chapters. This is because you still have to get journals and compete the Tall Take once. Hourglass can also be very easy depending on your ship type. Gally is the most sweaty while being the least toxic, brig is very sweaty while being often times toxic, Duo sloop is least toxic while being very 50/50 on what crew you get depending on you level, and solo sloop is the easiest by far as long as you can handle your sailing properly. However the flip side of that is that if you are newer and don’t much like pvp or you aren’t good at it then Gold Curse is easier by a long shot. Currently I’m 58 in Athena, but I haven’t really dedicated my time and mostly did it on brig and gally which as stated are the more sweaty of the battle types. I also had some bs happen with not being able to get on my ship losing a 3 streak and very good flags even though I had won (I was solo). It’s very dependent on who you are, but I would say overall for me Gold curse was way harder than getting to this point in Hourglass especially since I haven’t put in a lot of time in hourglass.

The sea curse is looks cool + you forgot to tell more stuff in your first day turorial SoT and that is that people dont raise an reaper emmisary and instead if they get enough money they should raise the merchant alliance that dosent fight skeleton,players,etc.

Here's the steps: There's a glitch I discovered where if the majority of the crew of any ship is on the shores of gold and one of them die their ship will respawn in the shores of gold. (I learned this by somehow convincing a galleon that was logging off) I. Brought 3 players of a galleon to the shores and their fourth joined and sailed into the shroud and sunk. Their ship, WITHOUT THE SHROUDBREAKER respawned in the shores of gold. What if you could convince a crew to go with you on your ship to the shores of gold, tell them to scuttle their ship and off one of them to respawn the ship, then ask them if they can turn on their hourglass. Normally you can't hourglass in the shores of gold because you have the shroudbreaker. Which, their ship will not have.

tip for all who wants to unlock the ashen curse: one of you has to leave before finishing the tall tale and join in after they finished it. You can use the checkpoint to go back in the cave as often as you want without doing the rest of the tale first.

The sunken and ashen curses are easily the best looking imo. Don't like the skeleton or ghost, they defeat the point of buying fashion. I like the legend curse too, but I ain't wasting hours playing hourglass PvP for glowy eyes.

Call me an absolute madman but my end goal in Sea of Thieves is acquiring every single curse (except maybe the golden versions of the PVP curses, it'll really depend on how I feel after I get the Athena blessing). Gotten back into sea of thieves the only problem I have is not having anyone to sail with my brother is to busy playing fortnite and other games and both my mates are now to busy to game we use to play arena and had a good time before arena mode was changed and eventually removed HG doesn't feel right unlike arena when coming last wasn’t a bad thing you still got paid and a decent amount of reputation for taking part while HG gives you so little if you lose It literally makes people feel discouraged and not wanting to play it when losing isn’t going to reward you well especially after spending 40 mins fighting somone because your both good I only got ghost curse was because I thought screw stacking up resources is pointless when you will just lose alit after you sink so I just kept fighting with the supplies my ship spawned with and just rammed into the player ship and board them I refuse to spend 40 mins fighting just to end up losing and getting so little reputation for a fight that could of ended ages ago

On my second time doing the tall tale, the dialogue didn't trigger when I handed in the chest, and therefore, wasn't technically completed, but the chest was still deleted. Also, on my third completion, I had turned on open crew, because "Why not? Either I get help with the skeletons, or someone to watch the ship." I got neither, and arrived back at the surface just in time to watch my ship sink at the hands of a troll.)
