Tiger Vanguard was enormously difficult, but after the 15th time he was starting to get easy, and by the 25th time he was simple. The key to his battle is getting better with dodges. That's it, that's the whole point of his battle; until you get better at timing your dodging, you won't beat him. Also, you need to use the staff skill where your strong attack elongates your staff for a hit.

That elongate skill has proven really crap to me. It takes a felt eternity to charge and get my skull caved in before it. But I have given up on this boss. 50+ tries have robbed me of any fun with this game. If I struggle this hard this early, I don't want to keep going anymore. I think I will just watch the game through let's plays now.

@@Cyon2012 So you don't EVER charge during a boss fight. You hit with light attacks which charges your focus and then all you have to do is press heavy attack and he will do a heavy attack, don't ever charge against a boss, you will get hit. Hard. The BEST stance on this boss is the one that extends your bow as an attack, that and learning to dodge is all it takes for this guy. The game developers want you to get better with timing your dodges with this boss, that's it. Hope you keep trying, believe me, I fought him A LOT but once I finally figured out the dodging and attacking sequence, he was easy. Also, you will need to use your transformations and magic thoughtfully too.

Like any challenging boss in the game, just progress further and explore for resources and level up before you go back to them. The difference it makes is huge. On my second attempt after leveling up i didn't have to be so cautious like i was the first time.

@@JustinMichael-mm3ni Yes, but you can choose in which order. The tiger has to be beat in order to progress to the stages necessary, but you can skip it and explore the entire map before facing him. You don't have to beat him in order to explore. I gave up on him too, but got him on my second attempt when i came back for him.

I got stuck big time on this guy. Tried 30 or so times before I got him. what I did was I basically did what you did at the start but I didn’t use the immobilize spell right away. What I did was just keep dodging and hitting him when he was on all fours after his jump attacks. I waited to use any spells or special powers until he was about at half health. I had pluck of many unlocked so I used that fire, since he doesn’t attack the duplicates, I just kept my distance and they just attack him with no resistance. Once they wore off I hit him with the first immobilize spell, deal some heavy damage, then hit him with white spirit. He only had a quarter of a health bar left. Then I get out my red tides which took about half of that remaining health. I then stood back a moment, let my immobilize finish recharging and after a jump attack, I landed the immobilize, and finished him off.

Others said the tiger is more difficult than the white clad noble, but for me it is opposite, i defeated the tiger on my 4th attempt while the white clad it took me around almost 20 tries.

The point you made about the armour and health is most important. I'd add to it that you should switch your armour to the one that grants bonus stamina on water. Beat it first try with this exact setup.

I did a different build with Pillar stance, but saved me was your advice to build HP and defense. It seems obvious but most builds don't recommend it. It made all the difference, I really have a stone monkey now, lol!

This looks like a good strat! Thx will try it first thing. I like to enter the fight with a charged smash attack with 3 focus points. It goes over his attack (the one from the side) and he eats nice damage. But after that I can’t complete the win. He always destroys me, even when he’s almost at a third of his health.

Only thing that worked for me was beating the big rock boss, exploring other areas to get some more levels and get pluck of many spell. I'm no technical patient player, I'm all about momentum and lucky bursts of activity, so all of the above merged with the big head strike spirit, the first transform you get and some immobilizations eventually worked for me.

Use the serpent scale armor Use the thrust stance ,know his move set whenever u feel some move that the motherfucker makes can’t be parryed u can interrupt him and run far away Always maintain distance If u sense some moves cant be parryed change to that moon dance power so ur health will be preserved . Always if he is at correct distance u can use heavy thrust attack on him easily

Somehow beat this guy on the first try, and I'm not finding many of the bosses too difficult, most moves are telegraphed pretty easily and early. The water snake guy in Ch 1 was probably the most difficult boss for me because I had to learn how to fight in this game and was my most attempts out of any boss. The real key in most fights is to be patient and take a few swings and dodge the attacks and then finish the combo (get the ability that allows this, it is extremely useful). Using immobilize to get a free combo in and the fire transformation for an extra pool of health. Also using the cloud step is a helpful way to get a short break from any boss.

Very unfair boss. He can’t be staggered with every hit but you can with his hits. You can’t block. The extremely poor frame rate on console compared to pc seems to screw up the ability to perform a perfect dodge. He has so much health you have to keep rise and repeat hit and back off for 4-5 minutes. Boring. Not fair for paying customers to have this grade F game design.

I've been playing on console and I've had no issues with this boss. I haven't had any trouble with performing a prefect dodge, as well as staggering him. The boss was completely fair. You just need to improve your perfect dodges. I recommend going into the boss without attacking him. Spend some time learning his attacks and dodging, without actually hitting him. Also remember, if you're struggling with a boss, you can leave them temporarily to level up and get stronger. The most important thing is to be patient and to not give up.
