How to defeat TRIUMVIRATE in Salmon Run (Splatoon 3)

CORRECTIONS: - Grizzco Dualies do 35 damage since patch 8.0, my brain forgot about this! - Take the values about Stringer with a pinch of salt - the ink consumption rates aren’t as accurate as I thought. It may be that partials use more ink than taps and not what I mentioned in the video. So the damage totals I mention per ink tank won’t be fully accurate. Notwithstanding the errors, I still recommend using taps and partials for more overall DPS compared to fully charged shots (the 24% ink usage for fully charged shots is still correct AFAIK), as you’ll get more shots and thus more damage. I’ll correct this info in a video about the Grizzco Stringer in due time. P.S - tysm for the love on this!

I always die a lot during triumvirate because I don't see shit. When Joe and Coho block my entire screen, I don't see the Boris bomb coming :/ Also just can't handle all the stuff that's happening on screen, it looks so cluttered and it becomes hard for me to tell the difference between Cohos circle, Joes circle, the rain circle of a drizzler and the waves of big shots

@@enecofan888 Triumvirate is quite tricky and really pushes you to utilize good ink tank management and optimal movement. Also its really hard in freelance to coordinate and have everyone bait/lure bosses. Ive failed it plenty of times

I don't know the numbers, but they all do go down faster than normal. Second, Joe's attack cycle ends up offset on account that she spawns a few seconds later into wave start, so technically we have less time to hit her too! And third, you are an amazing person for making these videos. I've learned a lot from you, and hopefully more people will too. One hour left till Grand Run, folks! Thank you so much! I actually agree with the other comment - do you have a source of that the Kings health is reduced? I actually didn’t know that at all. There’s a lot of things in SR that are not documented anywhere and it can make making videos tricky, I didn’t see that recorded anywhere. I had just assumed their health was the same for their individual waves in which it’s measured by your hazard level and then caps 60% Hazard maximum. Slight correction from the video, the Grizzco Dualies now do 35 damage as of version 8.0.0, giving it shooting DPS of 420/525. These are both pretty good values and I find it useful if you need to hit a king yourself.

I find that for Grizzco Roller you are the best at luring Joe to especially Boris. It also allows the other "support" weapons you listed to be more free to do other important things other than lesser control. One more hand to damage kings is valuable. Also Reefslider PIERCES enemies and deal massive damage to Boris (somehow). It can be great at clearing a large crowd, dealing with Drizzler/Steelhead/Eels in a pinch, and damage Boris.

Yeah Reef is able to activate several hit boxes which can make it a surprising hard hitter. I think I talk about it more in my Horrorboros vid IIRC? Ever since it got a buff, I’ve loved it a lot more.

Cause it punches several hitboxes and Slider got buffed to inflict 750 dmg a pop upon explosion, which spreads outward and then upward. Hitting 6+ Hitboxes of Boris spells a huge chunk of its HP blasted clean off with 4.5K damage. It can also be used to instantly run over any bosses, including Drizzlers, Scrappers, Steelheads, Eels, and anything else that gets into the railing's trapping zone as it rushes in.

Egg Cannons also do 800 damage on direct hits at the cost of no ink consumed.. At times you have to trade to delete cohocks or other bosses. By the way.. Splatana can also rip apart bosses in a semi-invulnerable burying state, so it can spell free eggs when targeted which spells for more DPS than a fully charged slap and comes out faster. If you have both Tana and Slosher.. let Slosher weaken the bosses so Tana can finish them off with regular slaps. Full jumps can give you extra range to slap Joe's weakpoint, but consistently missing can be costly to the wave. Using full charges to damage kings should be a last resort as regular slaps spells for more consistent DPS long term. If the charge speed was faster. 200 x 30 = 6,000. This can be huge chip to Zuna when cheesing its aggro into constantly attacking in place.

Excellent guide! I've cleared a bunch of these waves before but still watched to see if there's anything I haven't thought of to optimize, to kill as many of these as possible this weekend. Weapon RNG has certainly given me the middle finger more often than it should have in past attempts, but with some more optimizations I can hopefully try to turn some of those into an unexpected win. EDIT: An hour and 8 cleared shifts later , I think the Triumvirate figured out the new counterplay. Just don't show up! I do wish the Salmometer increased twice as fast during this Big Run, since the normal waves are so easy. EDIT 2: After 10 shifts, I get a Triumvirate with 3 players....WIN for 30 Bronze. Ahaha, you can't make this up.

I got close to beating this once during the Grand Big Run. Leading Megalodontia to friendly fire the others seems the best play. Horrorboros seems the toughest to lure it to, though. I didn’t know all Kings could friendly fire the others aside from Megalodontia!

I was literally joking when I said tri video for grand run when joe video was released like yesterday Absolute legend Coho - 40k Boris- 55k, but the bomb has 2.5k and deals 5000 damage to Boris each time it backfires- meaning only 20k damage needs to be dealt Joe- 65k, but you deal 170% damage to the weakpoint- meaning ~38k damage needs to be dealt to the weakpoint Boris has much less effective health than the other kings...

(Sorry, but I need to vent myself, I hope you'll be understanding) Ok... I am truly impressed by the quality of your videos rachelski. I mean how informative, helpful and professionally they are made. Because thanks to them and luck in finding equally skilled randoms, I was able to kill my first boros and Joe, and almost kill the reiumvirate :) But... the extremely sad truth is that videos like these would not be so necessary if Salmonid Run was somehow consistent with the rest of the game. What I mean is this: 1. Where is my equipment from PvP with skills ? 2. Why can't I use my weapons permanently, or at least permanently choose one from the rotation ? 3. Why this "Armor" doesn't protect like in Campaign or Side order ? 4. Why do I only have two specials for three waves and that's it ?! 5. Why can't I renew my specials infinitely ? And I know, all of these questions can be answered with "Because of the story". But... I feel like the whole splatoon was created by the people from "Warframe" but Salmonid Run was created by the people from "Sekiro". I'm not saying it's bad or good. I'm just noticing a huge inconsistency with the rest of the game.

I was able to defeat a triumvirate wave only one time. My team had three Grizzco splatanas, and one Grizzco slosher (which is what I had).

Very good guide!! though I think there's a lil error for grizzco stringer, the shots use 9%, 12% and 24% depending on if they're tapped, partially or fully charged respectively, so that throws the damage calc out the window. I'm guessing you got your info from the wiki? it looks like they accidentally got the ink consumption values swapped.

I did use the wiki - is it wrong? I tested it out in the lobby too and got a feel for it so figured it was correct however I can’t say I did it for too long cause I didn’t have the time. Thanks I appreciate it, I am planning to add a pinned comment with some corrections to it so I’ll add this. One of the frustrating things about SR is the lack of concrete data and different information on different platforms. Lots of people have different things to say and it doesn’t look like there is one dedicated credible source with values that is updated regularly (maybe there is in Japanese but I haven’t found it yet)! Anyway tysm, I will add to list of corrections 🫡

The main problem i have is how overcrowded it looks for me every time in Triumvirate. I never seem to find a free spot to go anywhere and when i see a free spot, theres always something screwing me up anyways. But i think it is because i have problems in general, when there's too much stuff at once on the screen.
