I found out the best way to beat this one is to stay close to him. Hit him with a combo, once he tried to launch an attack, press dodge and immediately dodge again as he will usually follow up with a second attack. When he leaped back, I readied my shield and repeated those steps.

Somehow when I slow time to shoot arrows at him all that happens is he kills me in slow motion, LOL. I feel like the little boss (Kappa) before this guy was SO easy and this guy just is ridiculously difficult. Oh well the game is still super fun!

for anyone stuck with this, use the rot hammer ability. it deals a very huge chunk of damage.

​@@magnumfangyep, Def use multiple times, there's just a minor recharge time and obvs you have to rebuild rot points, That combined with use of the shield does the job :)

Even on easiest difficulty I can not beat this boss. I guess I'm stuck. Fucking hate games where you can not beat something because the devs think "oh let's make this battle impossible". A very fun game but the bosses are a little bit (or a lot) TO HARD.

Strange, turning on Story Mode helped me a lot. 3 uses of Rot Hammer and he's dead.

This freaking boss is impossible to kill....it has too long of a reach. No matter which direction you jump. Plus I dont understand how the guy in the video has such a strong shield ability, but I guess I shouldnt have spent all my crystals in the bow tree. :D

He's got a standard shield, use that along with the rot hammer and you'll be fine :) The shield will recharge too, just loose the odd quick arrow for rot points/recharge, keep your distance and only use shield as he's about to attack, that should save enough rot points for 3 hammer uses, that combined with a couple of whacks does the trick :)

I think you need to collect Rot to get additional rot charges with each level.
