How to Delete a Corrupted File in Windows?

All I did to remove the currupted file. "Open the properties of (C: or E:) which one has the corrupted files located, then go to (tools) and lastly click the (check and scan)" after the scan you can delete the corrupted file. I hope this will work.

In a recent power outage, my google file was corrupted (%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Google) and I cant open chrome. Im not sure if using any of these methods would cause harm to my computer somehow since it is a seemingly important file. Would it be safe to use any of these methods?

Try going into the task manager, look down the list of processes, if you see it, right click and click end task. Then go to (this PC) double click the C drive, then double click programs, if its there, delete it. them go to the original file and now try deleting it.

Sucks having a corrupted folder, probably because there is a corrupted file in it, that is impossible to rename, move or delete. Does this command prompt method work on a foldername, not just a file?

Easiest way to boot on safe mode is to Open system configuration as admin go to boot section tick safe mode and apply and restart vice versa

What if all the corrupted file paths only reads "(Archive Root Directory)"? I only want to delete a specific file path, but most of the corrupted file path names have the same reading as mentioned above. Also, the file corruption occurred when OneDrive extraction failed to properly upload onto my computer. The only option there is in properties is General, which is also inaccessible. 7-zip, etc. doesn't oddly work on the files. Update: Today I will try 7-zip on the folder, but still probably not.

Also, the recovery method won't work because I can't find the zipped onedrive folder in the browser section (maybe because it's a zipped folder?).

Another KZbinr solved my corrupted files problem for me. Command prompt chkdsk /F E: (or whatever drive you want to fix: my corrupt files or folders were on a new external HD that I was using to back up videofiles - I can now access those videofiles) Also, my brother claims F stands for Fix, not Force.

The way he explains Option 3 is completely useless. What he is typing is not what he is saying and he assumes that the viewer knows what he is talking about. So in the end you watch this video and likely the only thing you accomplished is wasting the time it took you to watch it. I always wonder why people think they should avoid explaining the details. If the viewer knew the details they likely would not need to watch the video in the first place. Onward I go searching.
