My browser Gmail does not look like that, and doesn't have a select all box at the top. It seems like you have a different view. On your computer, go to Gmail > Click Settings. Scroll to Inbox type. > Select Default, Important first, Unread first, Starred first, Priority Inbox, or Multiple Inboxes. The one that I use is Default.

You can only do bulk actions in Gmail on your computer, and please note that Basic view cant bulk delete (the Basic view does not have a gear icon at top right, it has the SETTINGS word instead) You need to use use standard view >> mail.google.com/

With the desktop version of Gmail, click the question mark icon near the top. Select Training. Google has put a lot of time and thought into step by step directions on how to use GMail effectively . Microsoft and Apple provide similar, and decent self support articles, but for the average user they look poor in comparison to Google's self support for its free full-function desktop email client.

For Gmail, after deleting unwanted emails, don't forget to empty your "Trash" to delete them permanently. If these emails continue to show up in your inbox, consider using Gmail's 'Report spam' feature for these unwanted emails. This helps Gmail to filter out similar emails in the future. This option surely works. However, if you'd like to save more of your time, you can automate the whole process by simply setting up the rules (watch my another video about creating rules). In Gmail, you can use filters and put the sender's email into the From field. Once filtered by Sender, you can delete these emails by selecting them. In Clean Email, there is a separate Senders tab, where you can see all the senders and set up any rules and apply any actions to the emails of particular senders.

The thing is that the mobile Gmail app doesn't allow you to easily filter emails to bulk delete them (we mention it in our video) as you can do in the web version of Gmail, for example. So, when on mobile, you may either check emails you want to delete one by one or use third-party apps that allow you to easily manage emails on your Android phone.

Understood! When dealing with such a large volume of emails, Gmail filters are your friend. Once you've applied a filter, you'll see a blue text that says "Select [number] of conversations". If in Gmail, you can try to do that using filters and then select all emails matching the same criteria > Trash them. Select one message from a company and mark it SPAM. Watch the message vanish from view. and fewer ones will appear in your Inbox. Search All Messages for that company name or domain and you can select every saved message not already labeled as Spam for movement to Trash. Spam and Trash get automatically and permanently deleted after 30 days - longer if you choose that setting - faster if you change to those label views and want to do it manually.

I cant do it. I have to go one by one which is insane! I have very important emails i can no longer receive since its full. Its forcing me to pay for extra space which is barbaric

clean mail...i don't see UPDATES or other sections that gmail divided my mail by. if so...useless.

It seems like you need to change a Google layout. On your computer, go to Gmail > Click Settings > Scroll to Inbox type> Select Default, Important first, Unread first, Starred first, Priority Inbox, or Multiple Inboxes. I use the Default one.

@@cleanemail No one for promotions and updates? AND WHAT about those i put in folders at the left that i do not want to let go of? Last time i did a clean off of one of their suggestions it took TONS from those folders and those are clients files i needed. I want them from that main feed that are not in folders.

not true, can't delete all emails at once... i have 6,000+ in my inbox and dont need any of them. I already know how to delete all on the screen. how to delete all in one click, anytime, all the time. a huge failing in gmail

Man i pull it up on browser but mine looks a bit different. When i click on all mail it doesn't have the box you clicked on above them to select all ... dammit it say 21000 emails ...HEEEELLLLP

Hey there! It sounds like you might be using a different version or the mobile version of Gmail. Try switching to the desktop version if you're on a mobile device. Also, Gmail might limit the number of emails you can select at once. However, don't worry, with Clean Email, you can easily select and delete all emails at once. Give it a try!
