It appears that the most likely cause of a failure on your Xtrainer will be from a improperly installed air filter allowing dust to be introduced inside the air boot behind the filter. It is very noticeable when you removed your air filter in the video.

Why? Oil injection for 2 strokes has been in use and dependable since the 70s. Three of the six 2 strokes I've owned had oil injection and never had one problem.

You need to block/restrict the hose from being able to suck any air into the air intake. There is a natural suction created which will try to draw from that tube. If you delete the oil injection, and don’t block off the tube you will start to suck more air than the carburetor is compensating for. You will run the bike lean of fuel doing this

Looking into doing the temporary removal, but I still don’t know what to do with the TPS wire? Should I leave it, unplug it, completely remove it? Couldn’t find a for sure answer on the forums.

I asked beta about this prior and they said they leave the TPS system on the bikes after OI delete. They even showed me a bike they were deleting the OI on for a customer before he picked it up and that they left the TPS

Any beta dealer. Same looms used on all betas so racing models without oil pump system need diod to eliminate check light . I was beta technician for 3yr seen lot of bikes with oil pump delete fail because check light on unable to know if other issues arise

Interesting fact some older model oil pumps had constant live so if cdi plug had any moisture it would cause oxidation on 3rd pin from left in cdi unit

Hey Aaron I’ve just done this unplugged it and put the zip tie on went for a lil test ride my check engine comes on at the start but turns off after a couple seconds should I be worried that it’s not coming on I didn’t unpin that plug ?

Because it’s a system that if it fails or has an issue you will kill your engine

Because if the oil injection fails in anyway (cut oil line, loose ground, ECU pin corrosion, etc etc) you’re engine will not get any lubrication and will blow up garunteed

Deleting it and premixing your own gas guarantees that the engine gets proper lubrication

If you get the check engine light indidication odds are its already too late. The indicator is there to tell you the system has failed. But if the system has failed while your riding you were running the bike without any lubrication. Not to mention thats only if the system detects the oil pump has failed. If you tear/ cut the oil line the bike has no idea. So youd 100% kill your bike in that circumstance

Bugs me when people improperly use the word “delete” like this. The word “Delete” is for Computer/software applications and supporting parts, not just any ole thing you want to REMOVE, which is the word we should be using in this case. Until Diesel Engines with Diesel Particulate Filters came out we NEVER heard people misusing this word, we said things like “remove” or “take it off”. Removing those DPF systems called for a certain software deletes to trick the computer into thinking the DPF system was still in place so the word Delete did loosely apply to those situations and the young people that grew up in this era started to misunderstand why the word was being used and now they just use it to describe removing ANYTHING wether it’s computer related or not. I likely wouldn’t have as much of an issue with it as I do if it just didn’t sound so stupid when they say it, but it does… so I do… my apologies if anyone wastes their time reading this, just needed to get it off my chest 🤣
