How to delete Permanent codes OBD2 to pass smog in California

step 1. fix the problem that caused the code to get triggered
Step 2. Drive the car for 200 miles without having the Check Engine Light come back On.
Step 3. Park your car open your hood and leave it open to help coolant temperature cool down. ( you can set a fan pointing towards the engine to cool it down faster or you can do it at night when temperature are below 55)
Step 4. Come back after a few hours Engine Off ignition On. Plug in your scanner or code reader and look for the Data option or section.
Step 5. look for the Coolant temperature and make sure it's at 120° (if it is turn the engine On)
Step 5. look for the coolant temperature.
and the Warm Up Cycles since The Check E was Cleared.(if you can't find it. it's OK just count the times you follow this procedure) Remember you need to do this 15x times
Step 7. Raise the RPMs to 2,000 or 1,500 until the coolant temperature reaches 165-170°) 170° is your best bet 👌
Step 8. Once you reach that Temperature you should have completed a Driving Cycle
Repeat this procedure 15x times

No. That doesn't work brother, everytime you unplug the battery you reset the parameters so if you got 12 warm ups done you have to start from 0

​@@Nostradamus_Order33you can't disconnect the battery, trust me... we replaced a engine on a malibu therefore the battery was disconnect for a couple of months, from the time it took to find an engine and install it... and permanent code was still in the system after pluging it and turning it on.
