A lot of work just to put new thermal paste and clean the fan. I started to do it but got nervous and stopped. Now that I have seen this video, I think I will try again. Worst case, I lose a few screws and forget to hook up the wires correctly. I believe that with the newer version of this computer (the 6430), it's much easier to get to the fan and CPU.

you can not replace USB. it's ataached to motherboard.

I have the same laptop Dell Latitude E7440 + Ubuntu 12.04.5, and there is a problem! When the laptop is cool - cooler turns right! When the laptop heats up - the cooler is spinning faster. When the laptop is running under a load of 80%, the cooler accelerates to 100%, and then, when the temperature comes vnormu, cooler still spinning at 100% speed. You do not have these problems?

I got exactly same laptop with i7 processor, its working great until it is under stress like render video on sony vegas. Temps going up to 95%, now is my question does replacing thermal paste helps with overheating in your unit?? Just wondering it is worth to strip laptop nearly to zero to get into heat-sink and that maybe not helps. great video any way

it's not fixed on the motherboard. you can easily change the charging port.

I got my replacement fan in my hand. After watching your video, i have to admit that this is the most complex fan pacing model ever i saw. Now i am thinking should i do it in my hand or i have to send it to professional service center. I did some fan replacement before in some other model, & i have proper tools to do it.
