Hey derrick Awesome videos and have learnt so much already I have a mini rok and it starts awesome when cold but after a session when we go back out and engine is warm it struggles to start in out grid (have to hold foot flat out and slowly splutters until gets momentum )any suggestions on where I could look to make it easier to start Cheers

Check your needle jet and the float level. they can be a real mission to get going. fresh engines seem to start the best. how old if is the piston ?
@kevingarra35192 ай бұрын
@PowerRepublic has about 12 hr on it Engine is strong and happened all of a sudden The lambda is about .85 on main straight and jet is a 96 on second clip in vic at sea level Had cyl head temps of about 150c that day Normal 20c day they are at 130 ish Should I be trying to lean out

Should float level be leaned and needle leaned out

Great video Is the float measure to the metal bracket or the plastic part Cheers

to the high point of the p[lastic floats is what I do. but either way is fine as long as you do it the same each time

Hi Derek, great video. What is the fuel pipe loop on top of the carb. Mine faces down but with no pipe connected

the breather tubes? we face them up and use a bridge piece of tube with a slot cut in the centre to atmosphere

Hey Dr Power. The updated mini rok rules have removed the fuel return line. The engine start fine when cold but if the young bloke spins on track it now won’t restart like it’s flooded (only since removing the return line). I’ve followed this video but still have the issue. Any tips? Cheers

@@PowerRepublicWhat is the role of the needle in how you impoverish or enrich the carburetion and how do you know which jigler to put. When you tighten the screw, does it cut its fuel?

You mentioned the mixture screw wasnt at 3/4, is 3/4 your start point?
@PowerRepublic7 жыл бұрын
Steve Clee I start at 3/4, 97maim jet and clip 4 on the needle for sea level tracks. As you increase your height above sea level you can lean the main jet out to a 95.

Great vids! I know this is an older vid but can you just confirm where you measure the float level? It’s hard to see on video. I can see it’s from the seat, but is it to the top of the actual float or the metal arm? Cheers! 👍👍

Is this for cadet 12 or a restricted cadet 9?
@PowerRepublic6 жыл бұрын
if your using the 97 jet in cadet 9 you can lean the float level off to 5.5mm instead of the 6.0mm for the cadet 12. best thing to do is to try them both with the same main jet and measure your results with a Lambda sensor. we also use a return line of the fuel outlet from the fuel pump back to the fuel tank with a 1-2mm restriction in the line.
