An additional tip I can give is if Reina's hellsweep into heaven's wrath connects, you can sidestep right to avoid most options except her dedicated homing move, which is a high and also has a mid follow up, but 9 times out of 10, you'll get the punish if you duck the high

I think a Feng-Wei punishment video would be very good. He is a sleeper extremely powerful character that becomes more and more prevalent the higher you go in the ranks and i think if you do not understand this matchup he will clean you every game.

No idea what a sleeper is but get your jist- main thing with feng is not to get draw in or too over excited straight after his combos as he has quick pokes and launchers. Wait for those clear openings. My friend is best feng I've played but demolish him normally based on these principles.

As a beginner, Reina main I am amazed at how few options she has for the game, while she is much more difficult than characters like Alisa or Victor. But i'm still passion of shes.

The few options she has are extremely well for punishing. Imo she's more of a "proper Tekken" character meaning, knowing how to block and adapt with none of the cheesy flow chart bs

some things i'd like to add: - the cartwheel extra kick in heat does absurd chip damage, blocking this is really isnt something you wanna keep doing - one of the best counters to heavens wrath is sidestep, which can be punished with HW 1 or 3+4 but until it gets punished it is almost always better than taking a million chip damage from HW 2 or 3, 4. - ff2 > sentai 3 trades EXTREMELY favorably against jabs for Reina, not only does Reina do significantly more damage, shes also got way more frames, especially when against the wall she literally just gets a free 112 as you see in the video. its way safer to do a crouch jab or just respect the move altogether. I do however recommend jabbing after Reina hits 112 and goes into stance since she doesnt have the frames to trade anything there. - thinking you can press a button after hell sweep bc youre +1 if she doesnt go into stance is a not a great idea because there is almost no reason whatsoever for Reina to not go into stance after hell sweep & if you try to press anything there youre getting destroyed by HW 2 (heat engager) or even worse possibly a HW 2 counter > sentai 1+2 > HW 2 (& then hope they cant heat dash out of this) - your advice to just respect HW when in heat kinda contradicts itself with the HW heat smash which is extremely dangerous bc its homing & has ridiculous range. when reina is in heat there really isn't a safe option against HW, you have to get a read on what she's gonna do. - some other moves that go into HW are WS 3,3 & sentai 1+2. Dont just mash after getting hit with WS 33 & do NOT forget about the HW heat counter when you think you get to punish sentai 1+2!! - the HW heat counter only works against normal kicks and punches!! weapons, knees, elbows, hopkicks & anything irregular just beats it. - another dangerous move is f4, you have to respect this move just like kazuya's or youre getting hit with the heat engager & a crouch jab is way too risky for how little reward it gives since they can sidestep it & get the heat engager regardless if they read it.

Uhhhh no do not jab after 112 sen, Reina is +11....thats a great way to eat a Sen 1+2, Sen 3, Sen 2, Sen 1,2, Sen 3+4. The ONLY move that jab beats after 112 Sen is Sen 4.

Ducking sentai is also very good. You can duck sentai 3, sentai throw, block the low, and you can fuzzy guard all the mids except sentai 2, which doesnt do much damage anyway. Sentai 4 is also steppable on reaction.

As a Reina main, our character is bad enough lol 😢. Jk, great informative video still, one extra thing about her Santai stance is that she has an armor mid that if you jab into that it’s pretty dangerous and u eat some damage (if near wall she gets a follow up)

To beat the hw heat auto parry if a reina uses a unsafe way to transition to hw punish it with a GRAB. It becomes unbreakable. Sidewalking advise to reina's wavedash is kinda bad since wd tracks sideswalk sidestep ( its the purpose why mishima does wd in the first place ) the video shows a lame ass wavedash that is so slow. That will not work on good reina or mishima in general with good execution. But will still work on reina that doesn't have on point execution yet.

Remember she Can wind step from heaven's wrath. Hellsweep and other options are still options for her in that stance. The jab for thé ff2 sentai4 IS a win in term of damage for Reina, so don't abuse it too much

Hit confirm your ff2. Sentai mix only on hit and 112. That counter to wd mixup is kinda bad. Since wd tracks side step and walk the opponent needs to time the sidestep/walk on the start up of electric, hellsweep if your the reina just mixup your timing by wd blocking. You can also counter the ss sw advise on the video by just wavedash faster it'll track them stepping And as the reina player you should create spacing where you can whiff punish with ff2 with your good keep out tools unsuko 4, f neutral 3 and condition them with good pokes b2 to control them tryng to step you. At least what i think my gameplan would be.

Reina is my nightmare. I lose to her in every single match. I was a might ruler got demoted because of Reina. I don’t know what it is with this character. I just can’t figure out how to beat her. It feels like every move she does is so quicker than my character. She has the zap speed which makes you end up just blocking and not knowing when is your turn. I’ll try to implement this strategy in my game plan hopefully it works. My main is Leo.

Janning Ff2 Sentai is okay but its better eaten with a sidestep to the right or ducking for most options. Contesting Reina with a jab isn't always guaranteed, she has sentai-1 a powercrush that is -14 on block, but turns safe if she absorbs a jab. She pushes you back and gains back the white health. If she trades with Sentai 3, you ate a frickton more damage than her, and jabbing makes you susceptible to the low (it high crushes and really evasive). She WANTS you to contest it Sidestep to the right beats all her mid options but you get clipped by the tracking high/low. Ducking will evade the high and the low for a big launching punish. Sidestepping will beat out her mids for another beefy sidestep launch punish. You risk poke damage, she risks her lifebar

@@Doublejho yup agree with this. The real thing to check is how the Reina player likes to ply the ff2 game. If the player tends to use mids cuz they love to call out ducks, you SSR. If the player spams the high, the low, or the unbreakable throw because it's the most advantageous and best options on block, you just duck and launch. It's still a coin flip, but since the Reina player doesnt have a lot of time to think out these options, they'll tend to spam one or 2 variants, so you can just make the read. You only need one correct reward and they'll throw away their lifebar, but they need multiple good reads. That's why ff2 sentai into nothing is actually helpful if your opponent actually knows how to counter Reina

just contributing my own two cents here as a reina main, that QCBF+2 grab will only have the "konami code" if you're not doing it properly it can be buffered during attacks, i personally prefer after jabs and specific plus frame moves since the input is nigh unseeable if you do so, there's not really any point just doing it out in the open like it is in the video, it's too bait (unless someone has godlike execution and does it instantly, i guess) if you can't react to the arm placement of throws, she'll have preference for using it either if you're consistently breaking u/f 1+2 or if there's a wall explosion thing behind you, which it's pretty adept at triggering, but close to walls there's preference for HWR's unbreakable throw or u/f 1+2 also, whilst jabbing her out of her SEN mixups is completely viable, if you're looking to punish her harder for using it, ducking will beat a solid chunk of the options like her throw, 3, low, and you can unduck if she uses her 4, whilst her 1,2 is whatever and the 2 is just a risk you'll be taking for ducking like this. 1+2 is rarely used outside of combos. a lot of reinas (myself included) are lazy and rely on 3 or 4, however, which isn't a true mixup, so bear this in mind

Other reina main, jabbing is safer because if you start ducking I start throwing out 1,2 which does massive Damage and it's a mid so you'll be locked in for the full damage on hit. Only duck if she keeps spamming the kick

Tips from a Reina main: There's also 1, 2, 3, 4, which is a safe string but ends in a high, so you can duck and punish. One of her options from Sentai (SEN) is 1, 2 or 1, qcf 2 which can beat your jabs, so make sure to rotate your options there. Other than that, quite solid stuff!, Well done! Reina just really win games by being super aggresive and confusing the opponent by mixing her options, so it's a classic mishima game I'd say. However, she does have very good CH options if you're mashing or pressing in a few key points, so be patient but do punish her and take your turn back whenever possible!

Pretty good. But trading jab with SEN 3 leaves Reina at true +10! -Meaning in some circumstances a 1,1,2 will be guaranteed- (I was wrong about that). Even without that at +10 she can immediately apply the exact same mixup again. You've also just done 6 damage vs 26. IDK if I'd consider that a real counter. And she can SEN 1,2 which is hit confirmable and becomes safe if you jab into it. Both hits become -9 but the second pushes back quite a bit. Fact is you have to guess after ff2 _on block_ because the devs are meth heads.

This is a nightmare. I have to study this like a history book for days, and I still can't apply that knowledge in a match at all. These Reina fuckers mash all this shit rapidfire and a human being can't react to it, even once you begin to understand it. I don't get why people act like this game is good at all, especially as a Tekken game. "Her lows are bad". Right, totally. Definitely.
