I really appreciate this. I have been strugling to find something simple, clear and usefull like this. This is my first VMware ESXi "complex" lab (I wanted to build nested ESXi separated with VLANs and pfsense) and I must tell you, this is an awesome step by step guide. Thank you.

Excellent video Haslund! Thank you very much! You've helped me a lot for my exam lab :) Now I need to learn how to show a FreeNAS disk on vcenter. Thank you!

Are you looking to use iSCSI?
@cassianoknopf16413 жыл бұрын
@@RasmusHaslund I will use ISCSI or NFS. I just need to create this volume on FreeNAS, show it on vCenter and run vMotion in one VM that I have created to use this disk that I created on FreeNAS.

This has been an informative series so far. Quick question... I've set up the AD and DNS server running, but now I am seeing a caution symbol on the network interface and it states there is not internet connection. But, from the command prompt, I can ping out to the internet. Is this by design?

Hi Rico, are you able to perform public DNS resolution? Sounds like there could be a small misconfiguration or conflict somewhere.

Its a great work, just one question, in which PC should I execute the vCenter install, I'm working with an enivrement like you, (vm for DC01 and other vm for esxi7) where I should install the vCenter!
@RasmusHaslund2 жыл бұрын
Sorry I missed your comment. You can run the install from any server that has network access to the esxi host and is performing DNS resolution on DC01.

Hi! my current vcenter fails to load some services and i already troubleshoot but problem persists. Can i just turn that one failed off and deploy a new installation of a new vcenter on any of my esxi hosts? can i do that in production hours? that would affect any running vm?
