Great tutorial! Thanks man. I know that you can also upload the angular app to a storage account as a static website. What is the differences between these two approaches?? Is any of them cheaper? or what about performance? what is best?
@IsraelQuiroz
@IsraelQuiroz Жыл бұрын
Appreciate it!!! I think if u upload it as static it's cheaper but doesn't scale as well so performance isn't as good but as an app service it's more expensive but flexible when it comes to scaling to whatever u need

@@IsraelQuiroz In your opinion, what's the cheapest way of hosting with: 1. WebAPI 2. Angular frontEnd 3. Sql server (can be sql express)

Thank you for the detailed tutorial. Very helpful. I want to ask a question: in your tutorial, you deployed your Angular and backend API in two separate Azure App Service. Can one Azure instance host both frontend and backend together?
@IsraelQuiroz
@IsraelQuiroz Жыл бұрын
An app service has a specific environment that it needs and it wouldn't work in this case I'm pretty sure maybe with docker or containers u could deploy them together maybe but I've never tried it I appreciate the compliment though maybe in the future I experiment more with this

Wonderful, thank you for this detailed tutorial. I have a question regarding billing. The only paid aspect I see is access to the SQL database, did you actually get about $5 billing? DTU billing is relatively complicated.
@IsraelQuiroz
@IsraelQuiroz Жыл бұрын
No problem! i'm so happy it could be helpful and was straight forward! so honestly the hosting can get very costly depending on the user base your app will have, most of my solo projects do not store a crazy amount of data so that cost to my clients has never been crazy, but the billing will just come down to how many space u need or redundancy, backups, etc so yeah my cost for storage always stays pretty low compared to hosting on azure but i could see it ballooning if u have a ton of data u are always storing

One problem is reloading the pages when the routes are not index. If you see The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable you need to add a web.config file with url reroutes to the azure site. ex added to root through ftp , found in publishsettings file under ftp

Thank you for this tutorial, it's really helpful. I had an issue when deploying the frontend part is that when I run the command ng build --configuration=production it creates the dist folder but it contains only assets folder and some js files, so that I can not deploy like you did in the tutorial since I don't have dist/appname. Can you help me with that ?
@IsraelQuiroz
@IsraelQuiroz Жыл бұрын
your welcome! :) well usually if you do ng build its default setting is now production so u shouldn't need to do the --configuration flag BUT the assets and js files should be everything that you should need i believe because on ng build it changes the typescript to javascript so as long as the files are the same files i have after ng build not having the folder path doesn't matter as much you just need to be able to put everything in the dist folder into the app service, i hope that makes sense, just point to the dist folder then if u dont have the dist/project name folder there or whatever the file containing the js files are

Why do we have 2 webapps instead of 1? Cant we deploy both .NET API and Angular into same webapp?

There are a lot of different setups, having two different web apps allows you to scale up the API without having to touch the frontend but u can put them together u just have to set up the root if u want
