Bowie, Queen, Nick Drake, Stones, Stooges, Nico, Doors, etc etc incredible-sounding records. When I first met him, only a few people were into these things, now it's finally a secret that's gotten out.

I've noticed that many tube circuts these days are low voltage powered instead of using high voltage transformers

Then the tubes are just for show, even battery powers radio tubes need 90-100V, the anode needs high voltage for amplification to occur.
