Marigolds are my absolute favorite pollinator to plant and they produce so much seed for the next year

Amen, about berries So easy to grow and so rewarding. You mentioned crowding flowers and plants together - great idea. My soon to be orchard will have flowers( like marigolds) and herbs nestled around them while they mature. A most helpful video. Thanks Ross!

Drones are real nice to get a good sense of your yard. It’s a cost but I found tools like drone deploy to be super helpful. I can draw an and get distances . I can get elevations changes .

Really great video Ross. I appreciate any education you are willing to give. You seem to speak a very resonating language. I have learned more about figs from you in a year than I have throughout my entire life (eating them since I was a baby). And now I have gone a little fig crazy and will have almost 20 plants this season {SMH}. But I am super excited to eat many varieties I've never had before. That said, you caught my attention here when you started discussing companion plants, most specifically sage. I spend a lot of money on beneficial insects every year , and I'd love to cut that down by providing them better plants to live in. Do you have any suggestions for simple plants that are not very bushy (easy to keep clean and neatish) that will help with pollination and create and habitat for beneficial insects? I would like plants that can live through the winter (cold zone 7 in North Dallas). I like sage, but what do I do - just but some and start planting? Any specific kind?

Popping in to compliment your hat in the thumbnail. 😂 I'm sure I'll have something more substantive to say after actually watching the video 😅

Wow, I just wrote a long comment and it just vanished! I’ll try again. Anyway. Nice video! I have a city garden, with 4 fig trees, plus 3 cutting from you, just bought in the fall. Strawberries. Blueberries, raspberries , herbs, shrubs, perennials, veggies, etc. my problem is I only have a limited amount of sun on my northwest side of yard and a lot or areas have bad soil, which is tremendously hard work to improve, because there is a lot of cinders, bricks, clay, and cement mixed in, but I just keep working it, little by little. What I really hate. Is how I try to mostly plant stuff according to the recommended spacing, but it ends up growing double the size the package indicates!! Then I have to rip it out.

Mine vanished too, just a reminder that you tube content creators only want to talk about themselves and not hear anything from you except praise of their projects. Ive pretty much unsubscribed from everyone and only look at stuff with info I need.

Ross has helped me a lot with my specific issues. He is very open to discuss things that are specific to me. He has a 100% rate of getting back to me, and because of him, I am much more educated about my specific concerns and he has shared many great ideas with me directly.
