I don't know if you know this by now, but if you find a picture that looks like a PNG, right-click on the picture and press "Open image in new tab", then try to download the picture. 9/10 times does it work and you will get a transparent background. But anyway, great job with the steering wheel!

Thanks for your content. I'm also a Sim Racing enthusiast as well as love my DIY, working with 3d Printers and CNC milling machines. I'm also self taught and love these videos as they always teach me new things for my little projects :) would be great to see a video on how you do the silicon molds for grips :)
@JamieHamelSmith4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for doing this Zach, I've been following your journey and I love that you are sharing your techniques and releasing source files. This is really close to some of the hand-built stuff that the Mechanical Keyboards community has been doing, but a bit more specialized of course. If you want to get crazy with the grips, model the base mesh in Fusion, then export it to Blender and use the sculpting tools there to get the nice edges and lips where you want and or need them! There's a pinch brush that would be perfect for the regions around the "t" shape where it meets the plate.

AMAZING! i'm doing a Mclaren 720s gt3 wheel on fusion360 after studying your GTE cad file...almost finished and ready to cnc the aluminium plate, I've modeled the Grip and cut in half in sandwich screw with the plate...but not sure How i will put the suede fabric around it ,if I need to coat with rubber spray before glue the suede ...do you use a special program to cut the fabric? I hope you make a video about that in next video thanks

Amazing video, thank you! Question, where do you find the CAD files for the electronics (switches, encoders, plugs, etc…)? Is there a good source or approach when trying to source these files?

Hi guys, can somebody please tell me where can I find these aluminum rotary knobs?
@TurnRacing Жыл бұрын
They aren't an off the shelf component, to do it in aluminum you'd need to try to find a sim supplier like HRS that does knobs that are similar, or there may be a sim supplier that does 3d printed ones, but I'm not sure, best bet is to go 3d printed. Thanks! -Zach
