Been driving the DD2 since the 30th of April. It's absolutely incredible. Very comparable to a OSW. I won't be able to say it's better or worse until Fanatec releases thier software for it to truly tweak the wheel.

The linkup with Charlie Eastwood here is really great. It’s another confirmation of the validity of sim racing as more than just “gaming”, allowing us mere mortals a glimpse at what it’s like to race. I know sim racing is not the same as the real thing ofc but if real drivers see the benefits of simulation then there’s got to be something to it. Fantastic video, Barry.

Greetings Barry. So about the mounting options, I notice that those holes on hub on the back of the wheel seems to match the QR of accuforce (B&G, same thing) perfectly. The only thing I am worrying about is the diameter. You mentioned the hub is 2-inches diameter but I wonder what is the exact size. May I ask you if it can be mounted directly to the accuforce QR, to the best of your knowledge? Thanks a lot. Also, if anyone reading this comment has already got his/her hands on the wheel, I would greatly appreciate it if you can tell me the answer.
@simracinggarage30265 жыл бұрын
The hub has a 70mm hole spacing. So you can attach any quick release that has this spacing. Most good QR's have this pattern available. 2 inches in length not diameter. You can check with Turn Racing, but I'm sure they can get you the spacer you need.
@tsorpniala98205 жыл бұрын
@@simracinggarage3026 Thanks so much for the info Barry! I am sure that my QR is 70mm so that should work. Sorry for my ignorance, as I have only used few QRs in my life.

What's the reasoning for the throttle stab on downshifts?
@johannehrlich87995 жыл бұрын
please answer this question
@virtualgridlock3015 жыл бұрын
iirc the GT1 class required clutch and throttle blip on downshifts, or at least blip, and flat upshifts. Whether this was a stipulation of the regulations or a limitation of the technology at the time I don’t know.
@Piedmont575 жыл бұрын

Does anyone else notice a difference between Barry and the other “supposed” well known reviewers? I won’t mention names. But I see his amount of subs and think is it because his videos are so long? If so, skip to the final thoughts. Is it because he is intelligent and gives an unbiased opinion on things he checks out? Is it because he is EXTREMELY detail oriented? Now let’s compare some of the other unnamed reviewers. And this is where I have a hard time taking them seriously. They get a new product in and make a “click bait” video doing an unboxing of the product they got shipped for free so that they can be biased. Like who the hell wants to watch someone unbox a product? If that excites someone then maybe they were the kid on Christmas who did not get many toys. Or they will talk about a product they are using and say I bought this product and love it, best wheel ever, best pedals ever. And then the next video and each after they are back to there regular sim gear that they got for free. Many of if not all the other guys try to be everyone’s friend and so they make 10 videos a week or more. All nonsense, it’s like it’s the “only” thing they have going, no other hobbies, family time, or life. And they are extremely biased and also do not have the knowledge to go into detail on things which is ok, just you can’t be taken seriously if your so biased by how everything you get is the best product ever. So it brings me back to Barry’s channel. And I don’t know any of this first hand, it’s my opinion, but here is a guy who is not doing “Christmas” morning videos doing an unboxing for click bait. He takes things apart to explain things, but are you guys also aware that he does this so you can see if the wheel you paid $500-2,000 for was built with parts that equal what the wheel is worth plus labor? He has done some wheels and I won’t name one in particular that the parts inside and the wheel equaled about $100-150, TOTAL, and sold for much more!! Barry is not bashing companies, but instead letting us make our own opinions. Also, has anyone wondered why he does not sell any wheels, shifters, pedals, etc... from his website? ( my opinion, so I am assuming) but it’s because once he starts doing that, you know he gets a percentage on the dollar of the product that sold thru his website. I am sure that would help him out as his time is valuable and I doubt he’s making much if anything doing videos, however, once you sell someone’s products, you are basically wanting to sell it to get a commission. So you are not being professional and instead your very biased!! I for one think Barry is the best reviewer by leaps and bounds!! When I purchase ANYTHING, I don’t give a fk about the packaging, little kids make those videos as if you have enough subscribers, and videos, and watched videos, amongst other things you get a few pennies. I care about my hard earned money. If it arrives damaged due to packaging, the company will fix it. So what does watching an unboxing video do for anyone? It’s like a woman taking off her clothes only she’s going to take off her hoody and underneath she has a t-shirt on. Ok guys, thanks for watching my BORING AF video to get me clicks... and also to only get 100-500 views. What’s that say? Well I have a lot of subscribers, I must have been interesting at one time, but now ppl are bored with my shitty videos. I know it sounds like I am complaining and I am, and for those who say well don’t watch the boring videos, I don’t. My point is Barry has less subscribers then some of the reviewers that do videos galore, but get minimal views. He has less subscribers and had 10-50x more views then other reviewers. I think we should take a stand and go thru our subscribers that we click and unsubscribe if we don’t go there anymore as why help them get even 1 penny in revenue or by allowing them to sell ad space by saying I have 20-30,40,50k subscribers, yet there video content is trash!! Again, this is 100% my views and ONLY my views. Barry, thank you for being the “ONLY” professional reviewer of sim racing gear at this time that when it comes time to spend a dollar, there is no better place to be so I have piece of mind before buying, and knowing I am getting what I am thanks to your hard work, and your attention to detail explaining things to myself and others!! And there could be a few typos, my phone is acting up. But it’s not a grammar class. Just showing my support for the Best Sim Racing reviewer by leaps and bounds!!

Great wheel and review, but you could improve on your lap time😋 Since the GT1-series is dead in iRacing as well, your lap gave me the opportunity to battle your time at least with the DBR9. Got a 6.25.437 (morning, 20° C, 40l fuel, one click less wing, tweaked diff-settings) and might be my favorite car in iRacing, but i treated it with a stick😉

@@simracinggarage3026 I was lucky with lowering the diff-plates and deg to the minimum. I don't know much about iRacing-setups, but that cured the understeer:) I'm surprised how good the FFB is in this Aston compare to the other cars i bought. (Ferrari or Z4 GT3 feel crap in comparison). But there is way too much grip with these tyres in iRacing and it's not good for mastering this track. You can take lines that would never work IRL or drive with nearly 130 km/h through the karussell, which should be more like 95 km/h. Raceroom, rF2 and even pCars 2 are much more accurate and similar in this regards.
