How to Design Your Own Watch From Scratch! Ep.1

Have you ever wanted to design your own watch from scratch? Ever since I became an Industrial Design college student, I've wanted to design and create my own watch. I tried and failed learning the art of watchmaking, but I've come across the company, Rotate Watches. They sell what are called movements, which provide the functions of every watch. I've been cutting out pieces of paper various sizes of different shapes just so I can get my proportions correctly. I was inspired to do this after seeing the Seiko submariner copy and it just has horrible proportions. Absolutely ballooned

Hey! Glad that I found your channel!!... You can try lofting in surface with G1 or G2 curvature, for the coffee filter type watch face. ✨😃

Haha thanks! I'm not too familiar with surface modeling so I'll have to look that one up. I don't think I'm going with the coffee filter one though... I'm working on the next video right now:)

Hello, do you know if there are companies offering tha same concept as rotate watches but for computer mice? E.g. offering the electronics without a body? Greetings from an id student from the Netherlands!

I found out about rotate watches by researching how watches are made. I would do the same to make a computer mouse. My advice would be to find a mouse you like and take it apart to see what the components are. Maybe a cheap one to save money.
