This strategy works very nicely - Yuffie works incredibly well to keep Odin engaged, and she's fast enough with Brumal form to dodge pretty much everything he throws at her. Great guide, thank you!

Great explanation! If I ever feel like taking this on again I'll keep this video in mind. I don't like these types of fights but I acknowledge it's a skill/patience issue on my part as well. It's not fun for me tho and it's sapped all my interest in wanting to replay on Hard. One good thing tho might be the enemies are actually harder on Dynamic in the late game particularly, and specifically Odin based off some single character vs Odin vids I've been seeing.

he puts purple shackles on the one taking most damage from him, after that doing any atb towards him will cause him to do reprisal, dunno if blindside negates that but reprisal is only for that character so just switch to another for a bit if that happens or just ignore atb until they go away

Just completed this on normal using the stratagies in this video at level 50. Guys, it works. Its incredibly important to spam wind current whenever you can to trigger fervor. Keep haste up, save limits for staggers. Will take a few attempts but it worked and my kill was much sloppier than this video

Level 70 and sucking at this, LOL. Granted I haven't played the game in over a month due to the 'post game blues' so I can't even remember how to keep Cloud in the air like you do here. Also Yuffie keeps targeting Alexander with her shuriken instead of Odin most of the time. I need to check my settings and see if that is something I can change. Guess I need to keep 'practicing' it until I get the feel of the fight down but I knew this was going to be difficult for me anyways regardless of my level.

I'm now at the point where I'm accumulating the materials to finally craft the Genji Gloves. So on to chapter 8 and try to make my way to the meatball on hard mode.

I don't know if they changed it in the patch but Blindside definitely triggers Reprisal when I'm fighting him. And Brumal Form has a 50/50 shot of just leaving me in the path of Charge anyway. Neither were reliable. I had to use Precision Defense Focus Materia and when Odin charges, you can get 3+ perfect blocks if you have the timing right. It sends his stagger bar through the roof.

Honestly haven’t touched this game since I made this video, has there been patches? I gotta try it again to see, but you can’t get hit too much otherwise when you use an atb reprisal will be used. Not sure about the perfect blocks but I remember when I would do them he would still use zantetsuken

nice! Good stuff, yeah it can be tough for sure since most of the game it was easy cruising in my opinion but this one specifically was tough. Glad you got through it. That’s odd I haven’t tried maybe there is a timer only thing I can think is if you aren’t dealing damage he gets bored and goes straight to the warning. Honestly the most annoying thing is his “reprisal” attack when you try to use an ATB attack

@@OtenP_ yeah. Insanely tough. I played the rest of the game on Dynamic. And the only other boss that troubled me. Was Rufus. Not the mechanic. Figured that out quickly. Similar to Xigbar from KH2. But I do like the feeling it gives too. That feeling of ‘crap’ should I heal. Or go for an attack. Should I defend or dodge. Almost like the OG when you play on ‘active’ as opposed to ‘wait’. I did find that when I played with Yuffie I wasn’t dealing as much. As I wanted to keep my distance. It’s a delicate balance.

I can beat Odin first round got his health really low, and Alexander l can eliminate no problems but the second wave of Odin, l dodge his attacks and attack him but he just keeps triggering the game over

Just make sure you are not getting hit and running away with Yuffie and using brumal form and make sure to use blindside or another distant attack otherwise he will use his Zantetsuken.

@@OtenP_ l just kept trying, l had to unlearn my playstyles and learn this method. l had been used to using a different set of characters, but they were not compatible with these bosses. l was a little lucky l think; you really need to do a lot of damage to Odin before he disappears so next round even when he hits you when you get the chance to cook him, he will die before his wipe move

I get alexander gone and oden down to 15% health and then he uses zantetsuken even though he wasnt hitting me. I think he can build zantetsuken off of attacking my summon. Im going to try it with no summon

Yeah, I can't make this work. I don't use the shortcut for Brumal and just don't get the timing right. Pretty sure he also did Reprisal after Blindside. I can still make him vanish and Alexander isn't going down as fast. He survived three limits and Odin came back and killed me. On another attempt Alexander wiped all but Cloud right before staggering him. This fight is for me the hardest definitely.

@@backspacer92 it can get frustrating for sure, took me a good amount of attempts before I got this video. The short cut is helpful but you can still do pull it off in tactical mode. You can get away with Odin hitting you a couple of times but make sure you have Yuffie shuriken stay hitting Odin so and just continue to evade his attacks. You have to be doing damage to Odin at all times and not get hit. That will then cause him to get pressure. Alexander is just keeping cloud mid air and spamming fire bolt blade. It’s a hard challenge for sure but doable one you have everything planned out.

@@OtenP_ Yeah, it's frustrating. I don't have True Strike so damage is a bit of a problem for Alexander because I foolishly want to get this done before finishing the game. Blindside and Reprisal are definitely weird. Sometimes Odin will do it and other times not when I hit him with Blindside. I'm playing it on Dynamic on top of that.

This is the easiest method I think. There’s a lot of cracked out players uploading ridiculous videos of them destroying these fights lol. But in these videos I do my best to break it down for everyone to be able to do. As long as yuffies shuriken is on Odin and you are dodging and not getting hit and using blind side it’s enough for him not to get bored and use Zantetsuken. That’s really the trick to this fight. Alexander is a cake walk
