The universe is going to die one day, and a fight between two titans will decide our cosmic fate.
On one side of this galactic battlefield, we have all the matter in the universe; on the other side, empty space infused with dark energy. Whoever wins will kill the universe in fun ways.
But who will that be?
We're looking at three possible ways to destroy the universe in our newest video.

Indeed life is meaningless. What am I? You are chains of Cause and effect. Moving Particals in an arangement of intelligence. Every choice thought and action "you" take is an effect. What is the reason for my existance? Why do I exist? Probability. An expression of math. Where are we going? After 120 years you will become nothing. Instead, what I think I am like is thoughts of god. A dream that he wanted to be real. The Bible is the best preserved ancient document with Plato and astrotle and many other ancient historical figures works having their earliest surving copies dated to around 1000 ad, with only at most a few dozen manuscripts. The bible has thousands of early copies and the new testaments earliest surving books can be dated to around 200 ad. However there are a huge number of variations in word choice that are different from one another in the manuscripts. This is due to natural translation and scribal error. However we can analyze all these copies to find the words that are in error. The basic truths remain the same even if we went and randomly deleted half of the scriptures in the 4 gospel accounts. If im not mistaken the kjv translates from Greek to english. Why were the disciples willing to suffer and die horribly, not for something they were told, but for something they literally saw. They knew if it was truth or not. A conspiracy to suffer right? If the gospels were fake why didn't the thousands of people that witnessed Jesus spread the memo that the gospels were actually fake? Do you lie, lust or sloth? Even if you are sometimes good you have failed the second commandment love your neighbor as yourself. For example by working hard you could become a doctor and save alot of improvised children from malnutrition if you give most of your money away. But you don't. So what? you say "sometimes I do good even in cases were it's not mutually benificial" and "the bibles definition of good is not what I belive". Indeed you follow your yourself instead of god making yourself your own god. What of the most important commandment? “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind" Instead of following him people reject thier creator who is not an indifferent God, but loves you so much to become a man and die for you and who also wants a relationship with you. If you sin in this life who says you would turn from your sin given more time? Can you pay hells price? Jesus came down, not as a worldly conquerer or king but as a generous teacher, yet he is the most influential man ever. All major religions try to incorporate jesus into thier own, both those that came before and after christ, as some sort of wise teacher or prophet(besides judism obviously) yet christs stance is "no one comes to the father but through me." All major religions preach a salvation where you save yourself yet christianity preaches that a loving God came to save you and he already paid the price for salvation. Please don't take my word for it. You have the ability to make choices and you can also choose to supress thought and to not seek the truth. A good source Is cold case christianity. According to my understanding, God is a God of love, creation and existence and sin is rejection of God, and leads to destruction, nothingness and emptyness.

"more of the universe" won't be able to do much of that once we aren't 120 light years away from any gamma wave pulse phenomena that could just insta wipe our solar system itself and sterilize every living thing if not obliterate the planet itself. That's also not counting for how much more frequent meteors will come around to bury us all and how much resources undoubtedly defending ourselves will hog, or how the spin of the planet itself or how days and nights will be affected. If a pandemic brought most of the worlds economy to it's knees then an asteroid shower will just be brutal torture with no end in sight. Undoubtedly apocalyptic

This video reminded me of a completely random existential crisis I had about falling into a black hole. There are so many people who have guessed what it would be like, but imagine the time dilation and what that means for starlight and radiation falling into the black hole. As you pass the event horizon wouldn't time basically become infinite and in an instant you would be absolutely vaporized from the massively increased light and radiation coming from outside as trillions of years pass in an instant? Big crunch in a tiny scale.

@zarosderer4447

The universe is a plate and a flat elastic dark energy field (by standby not acitaved yet until a "sperm drop" falls down) in which objects can fall down and stretch it down like a trampoline until they expand too much on the downside and ripe off the universe material and send everything which cointained all information from the old universe into the new universe in form like a small conenctraded particle which falls down to the next flat plate universe which lies under the old universe and many other universes which are all under another like plates under plates. So the drop of the old univers falls down to the next under him and THIS CREATES THE SUDDENLY ENERGY IMPACT which you all call Big Bang. Its not really a Big Bang crashing and letting explding things. Its just a impact of something which falls down and creates sudden energy fast high impact on the surface since the surface of the flat plate universe is a not yet activated energy field which is elastic. So it falls down and the energy impact will rip off the "sperm concentrated particle" and release his informations to the new universe and spread it. Thats why wave is so common in universe. Look at water. If a drop falls down it creates waves. And big universe laws will always apply and copy small laws on other plantes since they are connected. So everything what happens here is because they copied this from the big universe information. The dark emptinees is like I said a dark energy field which is elastic. ITs like water. You sink in it to the bottom. Thats why planets circle around. Its like water in a tube and a force on the ground pulling them in. Since the heavy objects fall into the universe they sink like in a trampoline example and create this bottom path on the ground. They key is the universe is a flat dark plate energy elastic field which is cold and not activated. By the drop falling down it activates. What is this dark energy. Well easy to explain: it is particles from us. They are acutally living and consciousness. I am very sure and I saw this in my vision that after we die we live further in form of this particles each. Only negative side is we are trapped. You cant evolve, so you dying and living on as particle are only allowed to take what you gathered here as knowledge into your soul/body/brain and this stage is the limit. So thats why partricles know what they have to do. They do it because they have consciousness. For them in order to survive they need some form of "oxygen". A fuel who actiavtes their inner enginge. And thats dark energy the emptinees which is not empty but full of dark energy. They consume it to get "oxygen" on their biological small level. So they have a desire like all to surive. Their goal? Well the universe is trapped and condemned to live eternity with a high neuron-linked super consciousness which is connected from all small particles which have consciousness and probably formed through all old living beeings which are now dead but come to stage 2 in living in as particles. So the universe is simultaenously linked with all particles as a super brain but they cant die and cant get out and do nothing and bored for eternity or suffer for eternity. Thats why univese tried to create tools to form actual human beeings whch have arms and legs and mechanical possibilites TO TAKE ACTION. The goal is that he universe wants to end the cycle by beeing destroyed and send to the next universe plat under him but wants to destroy the universe on his edges right and left to escape into nothingnees "real death". Universe itself is no nothingness- in fact even particles are living beeings with soul and consciousness. So therefore universe tried several unlimited x years to create and adjust and form new ways of life always failing until they succeded with animals and then with humans which took many universes to accomplish. Universe needs our help and we serve them without knowing and they direct us. They cant do magic. If they want to make things better or new or adjust, they need new cycles to come. They cant interact directly. They need time. Even time like many many new universes to come to make better adjustments. So think like a new reset with a new concentrated particle sperm. But you will see only results if the old universe dies and then the sperm falls IN ORDER TO SEE IF SOMETHING FAILED OR CHANGED OR EVEN GOT BETTER LIKE PLANNED AND WISHED. Maybe if our universe dies but all our informations which cointains and they adjust it, it could go wrong and the next 5 universes wouldnt even create humans or animals and they made the wrong coordination of adjustments. But I am sure. The objects sink down in the universe like here on earth on a see. And the see itself (dark energy) is the oxygen for every particle to activate and to get "fuel" so they work with motivation to a goal. TO A GOAL MEANS SURVIVING AND WORKING INTO ONE DIRECTION: further further for optimization

@@nbboxhead3866 Indeed, it could look similar (though not quite equivalent to) a big bang (since if dark energy would keep increasing, unless its behavior would be affected to weaken, it'd for all produced particles always immediately keep tearing quark pair apart from each other, never allowing them to stay together to form protons and neutrons and so on). However, if you'd be interested in an older cosmological theory that I based on this concept (which in games would be like a major "duping (or object doubling) exploit"), for the case that dark energy violates the law of conservation of energy in this manner (and before I figured out a very recent more promising cosmological theory, possible to find by searching for "Resolution of the Dark Matter Mystery", regarding and better incorporating the dark matter cosmic web and its dark energy role by acting as internal pressure between galaxies, as it consists of streams of hot neutrinos caught by galaxies' black holes which by conservation of momentum are pulled apart and pull stars with them), then one could find it by searching for the name I gave it, namely a (from such process resulting) "fractalizing super-universe".

It’s not a scientific thought, but I really like the “Big Crunch” theory for its narrative circularity. It’s so tidy and nice to imagine a universe that expands into infinite possibilities and then contracts into a singularity over and over. I hope one day we learn enough about dark energy to better grasp what the cosmic future holds, but I’m glad we still face such unfathomable uncertainties.
@CBY404
@CBY404 4 ай бұрын
Yeah thats what i thought. I believe that space is like liquid, it doesnt expand on its behalf, but after many years of degradation, matters dissolve and get softer so they become much smaller and more invisible while keep breaking. Eventually when everything stopped moving and all the energies has been transformed to stop particles due to interaction, everything would become slower and slower untill it collapses togheter entirely
@wills.5762

@@wills.5762 The issue is that assumption leads to huge mistakes that scientists have made. For example, Newton subscribed to the idea that the universe lasts forever so he always assumed time was constant. Einstein wanted to believe that we would one day be able to predict every single thing, so he hated the uncertainty of quantum physics. At the end of the day, the universe does not need to make sense to us.

Quarks can't exist as individual particles, and the energy to pull them apart just generates more quarks to join up with them, so does this lead to an infinite cascade of particle generation by dark energy as it tries to rip the quarks apart from each other?

They all share the same endgame. The first option, constant dark energy, maximizes the lifespan of the universe. When compared to the truly infinite, it is all just a drop in the bucket, sadly. A googol years is the same as a single year when compared to infinity. However, I think the universe probably runs it all back after some very long, but far from infinite time span, like a googol^googol years, so when compared to the “active” universe (aka not in a state of heat death or near heat death) lifespan it will be a long time to wait (if time even means anything when there are no actions to fill that time) before the next big bang, but I think humanity, and perhaps even us as individuals, will rise again, as we probably have trillions of times in the past. That is the one problem I have in this video, you simply cannot equate any number to infinity. You just cannot do that, it makes no sense. A googol years isn’t close to infinity, despite what this video says, nor is a googol^googol^googol years close to infinity. Math and number theory just does not work that way. Take any arbitrary number, and let’s make it an integer so that we are only dealing with the countable infinite. That string of numbers, however long, is guaranteed to be in the set of infinite integers, and it will be in there an infinite amount of times. Ex. Consider the number 192837465. Well that string of numbers will appear infinitely many times in the infinite set of integers. On 2nd thought it is actually more clear when you consider an infinite decimal that is irrational. Like pi. Now think of any string of numbers, as arbitrarily long as you wish. Well that string will be found an infinite amount of times in the decimal places of pi. That, at least for me, clarifies the sheer immeasurable magnitude of infinity as well as anything else. Thankfully, infinity likely doesn’t exist as anything more than an exercise in the mind. Bottomline is sure heat death is eventually likely, but the rebirth of a universe with the exact same initial conditions is highly probably imo. Now how closely that newly born universe will match our own depends on just how random events in the universe truly are. I don’t think they are that random, just a hunch, and thus I imagine we will all be here again sometime in the future 😊 It just makes sense.

When I was younger, I used to think that the universe would eventually callapse on itself and create another big bang. But then I realised that the universe was expanding at an accelerating rate. But who knows, it could be possible for dark matter to weaken and cause the expansion to eventually reverse and collapse in on itself. I don't know why, but I like the idea of the universe constantly expanding and collasping, causing one big bang after another.
@pauls5745

Yeah, BB and Big Crunch, a cyclical universe. But all states of energy seek to reach an equilibrium, I think. Motion must settle, temperature will end at absolute 0, matter disperses, until it expanded as far as it has momentum to get to.Then it is at rest, a system in equilibrium, waiting for something to disturb it. Forever scattered outward. I think it'd take only 1 particle from outside the universe flung in, and things could get rolling again with a BigCrunch and another BigBang.

This video helped me finally figure out something that's been on my mind for years. It was the Kurzgesagt video on the Kardeshev Scale that helped me develop my idea for what the point of life is: doing whatever I can to help humanity further itself along and grow on the Kardeshev Scale. I'll probably die before I can see us become a Type 2 civilization, but it'll be easier knowing I helped. But with humanity set for eventually becoming a Type 3, Type 4, and even Type Omega, the question that bothered me was: What's the point? What is the point of our species becoming Type Omega and essentially becoming God? The point is this: Saving the Universe. Through either forcing the entropy of Dark Matter and Dark Energy into equilibrium, or seeding a new genesis through a controlled second Big Bang, we can save ourselves and everything else in our universe. Thank you Kurzgesagt for helping me figure out my philosophy for the point of life
@LightningShiva1

great views but my question is what's the point of "saving" the universe? Everything has its end, it might take countless years to get there but nothing can be eternal. Even if we do somehow manage to make ourselves eternal, what is the point of it? Thinking back to the kings and conquerors of our history, what was their point of ever expanding into other territories? So that they will be remembered? Will anyone even exist to remember us? What is the point of them remembering us anyways. And we are Type 0.7 on Kardashev scale btw, its highly unlikely we'll become Type 1 in our life times, much less Type 2. I dont think humanity will survive long enough to cross 2.5.

@@LightningShiva1 I personally believe the point is the same as it would be for setting any other kind of goal; to have something to work towards. But on this scale, it would be a tremendous undertaking for any sentient species living in the universe. For humanity, it could be a focal point, where our brightest and most innovative are tasked with finding a way to stabilize dark matter/dark energy. Saying we actually did accomplish this, I can't say what we would do afterwards, but we would at least have a lot of time to think about it. I for one would much prefer to extend our time in this universe than succumb to nihilism and let it die. This is the same as, "It is what it is" versus "It is what you make it" Both can be true under circumstance, but I think ultimately, the answer, as it pertains to our discussion, is: "It is what We make it" It's only up to ourselves to see just how far we go and what we accomplish. In terms of imperialistic expansion of old monarchies, humans will likely follow a similar path as we become an interplanetary species. It seems to be our nature to proliferate as much as possible. And I realized my typo after I posted, I should've started with how we're at 0.72-0.74 Yes, I would be very excited to live to see Type 1, let alone Type 2 Anyway, thanks for replying

@@traviskegler4700 I wanted to help us reach stars but you took that to another level 😂. But honestly I’m with you on that and even with the reply. It would give us crazy amounts of time to even possibly go further. Wish u best of luck on your missions and who knows, maybe we’ll find ourselves working together on this problem 😁
