the old ladas were actually built like tanks. Most of the heavy production was war oriented so the engineers that designed the lada most probably had war machine designing expirience. Plus there werent much proper roads so the car would have to be built well and be easily repearable and fixable because there werent that many car fixing shops around. Also fun fact to get a car you would have to be the best at your company pay tons of money and wait 18 months or so to get it, oh and you would also need a written permision from the goverment.

now days every company that sells products doesn't want to sell to the consumers something that will last forever but something that will last for some years before they need to replace it or re buy it. Some decades ago the companies wanted to build something that could last forever cause the companies where "fighting" at the field "" our product is good and doesn't break"" now they just focus at the field ""our product is the best( and we secretly hope it will break as soon as the warranty ends)""

From Larry o. The best gag I've seen is if you slice a couple of ping pong balls with a razor (or similar but smaller) in the tang they will fill w/gas and submerge, while driving one will suck into the gas section tube and you'll run out of gas, after you block it you'll run out of gas,a short time later it will drift away and you can start the motor and drive till it blocks and u run out of gas, on the road or in traffic, again it'll start , you can drive again and run out again ,stalled in traffic, then start again, repeatedly running out of gas again in a driving situation and push it off the road ,it'll start again, drive 4 a while running out again and repeating it all over again and again!

Try adding *Tetraethyl orthosilicate* (TEOS) to the gas, if you can get your hands on some. It's a liquid which can be mixed with gasoline, is rather safe to handle, and forms *tiny sand particles when it's burned* in the engine. Could become pretty interesting.

Funny story. My dad's an old car mechanic from like the 50's through the 80's. One day my car's radiator burst a hole in it and the engine was over heating. My dad said "are you near a store" I said "yes" he said "go inside and grab an egg and crack it and pour it into the radiator.. it will stop the leak enough to get it home" so I did it and I can't believe it. It freaking worked! The egg whites was coming through the radiator hole but as soon as it got hot the egg hardened right inside the hole and stopped the link. Just enough to get it home and replace the radiator. lol crazy story but its a true one.

Wasted is right. That engine had another hundred thousand in it, or two or three maybe, and they murdered it. Why swap it? Why not rebuild it? Sure it's toast now, but it was a quick rebuild away from running like new at the beginning. I'll never understand this. It's like watching unarmed people fight off lions in the arena for sport. All the good that could have been was deliberately destroyed. Wasted.

Kitty that will turn the car into a bomb

Yeah thats literally just a gas bomb- the point was to destroy the engine, not everything in the engine compartment as well as embedding shrapnel in the cameraman´s face.

Despite being depicted in the first Fast & Furious, as well as the one from 2009, Nitrous doesn't turn cars into bombs. I've used Nitrous to extinguish a lit match for fun. Most spectacularly it would cause the pistons to fail and the flinging connecting rods just saw the block in half if the RPMs are high enough. But most likely, it'd just cause a backfire thru the intake and not much else.

So, kiddos, the lesson is that basically any liquid is a perfectly adequate substitute for engine oil.

If this was an American engine it would have stopped working from the time he added cooking oil.

The cooking oil would not hurt, at least over the short term. It is actually a very good lubricant.

Depends on which decade. A small block chevy does ok so long as you have a manual trans. It's mostly the auto trans that go first. A 300 straight 6 with a 4 speed manual ford will easily reach 600k. My 1.8l Toyota with a 6 speed is at 400k still running like new so overall you can't really beat the imports
