Thank you ! When I was in high school, I never able to solve the problem. When you understand function transform and deriving hyperbola equations. This problem becomes solvable.

How about if 1 in negative? How do you solve it? Should we multiply both sides by negative sign?

How about if a² and b² are irrational numbers? And does not have a sqare root? What would it be?

there is no problem if a^2 and b^2 are irrational....only thing is calculation part would become difficult
