Yeah, I'm not sure what I am, body calculators say I'm a rectangle but I'm chubby and if I only had 1 more inch on my butt I'd be an hourglass by your standards or if I had one more inch in my bust by most calculators I'd be a top hourglass. Usually it's the chest that's too tight in anything I wear. My shoulders and butt are the same. My waist is 7 inches smaller than hips and my bust is around 8 to 8 and half inches bigger than my waist depending on the day.

Very useful and informative video. I was a perfect pear growing up but as I got into my 30s, I started working out. My shoulders and upper back became more defined and my lower body slimmed down. This gave a more hourglass silhouette with a medium bust and a very well defined waist. But genes don't lie. The FIRST place I gain weight is at the thighs and derrière. Ladies who regularly work out usually deviate from their original figure giving the impression that they have another or a mixed body shape. The tip on where the excess weight settles would therefore be a better indicator in that instance. Women in their 40s and older also must account for the additional tendancy to put on excess weight around their mid section. This will give the appearance of an apple shape regardless of the original body shape. I'm 47 now and have to work at maintaining that small waist these days although my overall proportions still remain the same.

I guess I’m a mixed body type, I’ve never heard about it, but now I think I’m a mix of hourglass and pear, because even if I gain weight kind of evenly, it tends to accumulate more in the hips. Also, my shoulders and hips are even, but I’m really flat chested.

I think I’m both inverted triangle and hourglass, my shoulders are a small bit wider then my hips. It’s not very noticeable as I’ve grown into my body, I’d say my my hips aren’t pronounced but my flesh sits low on my hips. My waist typically remains defined, don’t gain much weight on it, always looks flat and tucked in. More my thighs, back, breasts and shoulders

Funny, I just found out, that I like my body more, when I gained weight. At the moment I am a bit heavier than I normally am, but my waist seems much smaller than usually and my curves look a lot better. So here's a reminder for everyone (espacially for hourglasses): Slimer isn't always what you need.

I always thought I was a short rectangle, but by your definitions i am actually an apple. I do tend to have a protruding stomach - my husband teases me about it- despite not being overweight. Your openness about your own little tummy and its tendency to protrude helps me a lot to see what you mean. I do tend to put on weight around my tummy, although my boobs grow as well. I thought most of my life that I was a pear, but when I do tests and quizzes of body most of the time it come hourglass. I gain weight mostly in my upper thighs and upper arms, when I lose weight my waist and neck are the first places, then my breast (that's why I assumed I was a pear). I ignore my weight gain for years because I looked voluptuous rather than fat, but when fat started appear in more in my belly it was my wake up call. I don't know if that's a thing with hourglasses, but weight gain is really easy to ignore when you still look good on your clothes.

I think I’m about 90% hourglass with a little pear thrown in. My shoulders are about an inch wider than my hips, but it’s definitely not the first thing people notice. I pretty much always have a defined waistline. But if I gain weight, it starts at my thighs and hips and works up. I’ll check out your mixed body type video and see what that say! Thank you!

Please make a video on mixed body types if you haven't already. I still don't know what my body type is after watching this and taking the quiz. I am 5' 3", my shoulders are slightly wider than my hips, I have a slightly curved waist (about 4" smaller than my waist), and I tend to gain weight evenly. My limbs are short for my body I think. I am so confused. I thought I was a rectangle, then perhaps a inverted triangle, then an apple. Or maybe a mix between two of those. Help please. Yes, please do a video on in-between body types! My shoulders are wider than my hips, but my upper thighs are a bit fuller than a typical inverted triangle would be. Looking at it from the back, my butt is pretty flat, but from the side profile, it has shape. My waistline is defined, but not significantly smaller than my hips (I have quite a small torso.) But if I were to gain weight, I’d definitely show on my waist first. My shoulders are too wide to be a pear, but I’m still a little too balanced on top and bottom to be an inverted triangle. I’m a little too curvy to be a rectangle, and am not curvy enough to be an hourglass shape. All this leads me to believe that I’m an apple shape or an in-between shape. I’d never really considered that I could be an apple shape before, because all other websites gave the impression that your waist would be the widest point on your body, which in my case, it’s not- but your video was really helpful in defining what the apple shape actually is- so thanks! Coming from a 5 ft tall fellow petite💕😊

My waist has been smaller 8in in my hips since I was a little girl. I've usually at least at 32 in and then 24in ways. But that was never considered anything close to anything but an inverted triangle. So I kind of find out where you would say 8 in. I think eight inches is for people who are overweight the people who are@weight usually The limited stent in. Which I make as well nowadays. I'm about 10 inches bigger in my hips sometimes I can be 11 inches bigger in my hips than my waist.

Yeah my butt isn't flat not nearly. And my bust is actually the biggest part of me. But my shoulders when I'm at my thinnest are the biggest part of me. When I'm really skinny. It's just that when I put on weight my chest gets bigger because my chest gains the most. But my Childers do have a tendency to be wider than my hips. Especially wider they're definitely wider now the size of my hips and my shoulders are pretty much the same. There's only a quarter inch

Very helpful. Particularly the last question helped me decide. I do have the problem the places I gain weight are pretty evenly distributed but I don’t lose weight evenly. This means depending on what point I am in weight loss I am somewhere between an hourglass and a pear (weight comes off my hips last even though I have almost no butt)

I’m probably a combination of Rectangle and Inverted Triangle. Flat chest, fat belly, slim legs, not wide hips, but not flat butt. My butt shows well on jeans and dresses, always gets compliment with my butt , but the downside to the dress is that I look pregnant, I can never wear a bodycon dress.

omg my body measurements are almost the exact same but on a smaller scale. Mine are: shoulders: 15 bust: 32 waist: 26 high hip: 30 hip: 35 I'm honestly not sure exactly what I am but I think i'm somewhere between a rectangle and pear. I'm definitely "bottom heavy" bc i gain weight in my thighs, but at the same time i dont have a defined waist so I sometimes appear as a rectangle.

I was always a true hourglass until middle age, then my waist thickened, without weight gain. I think of myself as a rectangle, but I have a large bust, equal but narrow hips and shoulders , not much waist definition and slim legs. I don’t seem to fit any type now. I have always been more on the slender slide, and people have always commented that I have a "great" figure looks but I'm not sure, but most still say I have curves. Based on measurements I'm an hour glass shoulder 36 waist 26 hip 36.5. But my chest is 34. I don't look vivacious/curvy, I don't look skinny, im probably mesomorph. When I gain weight I have even distribution, but I hold a lot of fat in my butt and thighs no matter my size, and average chest. Am I like a bottom hourglass? Idk haha 😅

I think I'm mixed. My shoulders are 40, bust is 34.5, waist is 29, hips are 39, my thighs and arms are thicc, but im not sure if im an hourglass

It's true, Kim kardashian stands more as a pear than a hourglass. Her hips are 4 inches wider than her shoulders.

Yes please! Definitely a video on mixed body shapes. My shoulders are the widest part of my body and I have no butt which should make me an inverted triangle but I also gain most of my weight in my tummy area and I have a full bust. So maybe I am apple as well? Please help

I started with an hourglass body shape. Then, I gained weight, and I had more of a pear body shape. Then I got older, and I ended up with a protruding belly and a larger bust. Now, I think I am an apple shape, but I have large thighs and large upper arms. My bottom has actually gotten flatter, although it is bigger than it was. I don't exactly fit into any of the categories, but I think that the apple shape fits me best. I don't have thin arm and legs, though. My arms below the elbow, and my legs below the knee, are fairly thin, or less fat, anyway.

Your hips seem to be close enough to your shoulders, so doesn't sound like an obvious inverted triangle to me.
