When i was younger, i found myself extremely ugly. I had acne, was overweight. Finding my kibbe body type at 22yr has me looking at myself more.. in a way im slowly accepting my body. From feeling down if im not romantic to.. realizing how beautiful the other body types are as well! This really is helping me.

I am not sure if I am soft classic or soft natural. I like how you talked about the essence underneath. That is a cool thing to think about for finding a core fashion that really fits me uniquely. I think a good way to find the difference between the two is to look it the face me the shoulder. For gamines the shoulders are wider or the breasts are heavier that theatrical romantic and the face have more Sharp edges with the eyes being more upturned. Hope that helps

I had the same issue actually 😜 but 2 years ago I suppose. I think I didn't want to admit that I am soft gamine, I thought that it is a worse type :P Maybe try to wear some SG type clothes and then TR type clothes. You will see which flatter you better. Looking for pictures of celebrieties of these types should help too. It helped me 😊 and On Aly Art Channel you can find many material about this.

Also Soft gamines, and gamines at all, look a little bit like dolls, look younger then their age is, and SG just like Chi said - mostly they seem to feel overweight even if they aren't 😪

i enjoyed it as well except this focus on saying "hourglass" shape. as using this term makes women measure their bust-waist-hips and then the women will say "but i have an hourglass figure because my waist is smaller than my bust and hips" and this will cause them to mistype themselves. ALL of the types can have a technical "hourglass" shape. but super models are flamboyant natural....but they all have an hourglass figure. their measurements typically look like this: 34-24-34...and that is an "hourglass" figure. then the focus on specific heights as opposed to just saying tall or short. because 5'6" is NOT TALL it is considered average across the world statistics. but it is a very good description of kibbes book.

I don't really understand when people say you won't have "exotic features"? First, exotic in comparison to what? Most people would consider my features to be exotic (due to my ethnic heritage and yes, almond-shaped eyes) but I also think I fit neater into the dramatic classic type.

You are right- exotic feature or not is totally relative and subjective. Kibbe also said do not be too hang up on one thing- focus on your essence instead . If you feel like you are closer to dramatic, you probably should trust your intuition.

I started wear like this about two years ago and I literally can see the difference. Damn it. I was really hoping to find mine but I have an equal mix of A&B, C&D and E. Not even one more than another. So frustrating! I could take a guess from the video, but just intuitively, I feel more feminine and short in the body and more angular in the face. So.... Whatever that means. Maybe I should go through and analyze my "moderate" answers more to fall somewhere out of center. The way Chi described it, I would have guessed soft natural.

The Kibbe stuff has always confused me, because when I think I've found my 'type' I get a bunch of listed reasons why that's not me at the same time. Also many a times asking someone else's opinion on our body can be helpful instead of figuring it out ourselves because we tend to overthink and nitpick when it comes to our own self. So asking mom or friends can help.

Maybe i can help! I've been falling down the Kibbe rabbit hole for years now 😅 The answer you're looking for is: bone structure. That's the main difference between these types. Where they look alike is the yin flesh, the softness on top of the bones. But the silhouettes are completely different. Soft Dramatics are Dramatics with softness on top of them, with Yin. They have a long vertical line (they look taller than they are, even if they're small) and their clothes must accommodate the curvy line at their bust. It doesn't mean that they have to be busty, but their bust pushes the fabric outwards and forwards (in at the armpits, out at the bust, in below the bust, and then it just falls straight). That's what Kibbe calls "curves" because if you were to draw the outline of the silhouette, the line would curve, not fall straight down from the shoulders. Curves are the common denominator of all the types you wondered about, so it's important to understand that concept. Soft Naturals have curves, but their main focal point is the width in their shoulders. It is like a frame for their curves to shine. So their clothes should have room for both their shoulders and their bust, hence why Kibbe recommends unconstructed garments and relaxed silhouettes. Their width does the structure of their silhouette. Romantics are all yin, as explained in the video. They don't have a long vertical line, they don't have width - they can appear wide but it comes from their flesh, their softness, not their bone structure. They are delicate and their silhouette is rounded. You can't be more yin or softer than Romantics. Theatrical Romantics have the delicate bone structure of Romantics, but with yang elements added to it, typically sharpness in the face, shoulders, or vertical line but (just like Flamboyant Gamines) not enough yang to be categorised as a yang type: remember, their frame is first and foremost romantic. They will not appear tall, they will not have width. It's all about proportions, the same way you won't have the same colour if you mix a drop of red in white paint or if you mix a drop of white in red paint. In short, try to not focus on how the body looks, but on how fabric behaves on the body. A same garment would look extremely different if worn by a Soft Dramatic or by a Soft Natural or by a Romantic or a Theatrical Romantic, because their proportions are wildly different. In that case I would advice to walk backwards. Take the recommendations for each body type and see which one is best for you. Maybe you followed some rules for a certain type and you love how you look in those, but could never pin it why (that was me). And in some others you were like: why it doesn't work for me? It works for that girl, but when I put it on it looks separate on me, doesn't make me feel good. And sometimes that elusive essence will allow us to pull off some looks more than others. It really is helpful when you finally get it. (for me at least, because I am usually clueless about style, and finding my own was a lifesaver)

You're a 'soft' type so that's one thing down. 👏👏 I would focus on your bone structure, if you are narrow then, cross out Soft Natural. If you are broad then, cross out Theatrical Romantic. Then look at where your yin and yang features are: if you are mostly yang in bone structure and mostly yin in body flesh you are TR/SN depending on the previous question's answer. If you have an even split in bone structure AND some yang in body flesh you are Soft Gamine. Any Classic (moderate) answers can be ignored when looking at where your yin-yang balance is. **PS: I was the same, I'm petite (4'11 and pretty light) with an hourglass figure so I thought TR/SN but I couldn't reconcile being TR with how broad my shoulders were and 75% of my bone structure questions were soft yang so... I'm a very short Soft Natural.

Honestly, the easiest way to determine the difference is with your height. You cannot be a short dramatic(below 5'5) nor can you be a tall romantic(above 5'5). In a way a TR is a short SD and vice versa. If you are 5'5 (lol) then decide if you notice flesh/curves in your body first(Theatrical Romantic) or your sharp bone structure first(Soft Dramatic).

I think height is part of the body type, like how a gamine couldn't be tall and a dramatic couldn't be short. The heights are just general guidelines, but height definitely affects proportions and how your body looks so it has to be taken into consideration

I can't tell wether I am Soft Natural, Soft Gamine(I feel like I'm more so in the romantic family), Theatrical Romantic or Romantic but I have been adapting alot of Romantic mannerisms just everything to waist emphasis hmm...even though I doubt I'm a soft natural but then again i am 16 so i my bones and flesh could change slightly but i doubt it and my height is 4'10 - 5'1 I have been said to be on the curvier side then rectangle side but anything without waist emphasis I look more like a large box Not very tall at all I gain weight in the thighs, especially face, and I believe upper arms aswell Turtlenecks can make my face bring out more roundness I should research about what type look good in turtlenecks and that will possibly determine why it brings out the yin in my face I have small feet and hands compared to the other more Yang types I have prominent cheekbones but more so on a full fleshy round cheekbone side of things and not on the sharp cheekbone side If I had to do the fruit body type test I would be tied between a pear and hourglass~~~🍐⌛

i recommend you to look at your photos, at your whole body from head to toes when you taking the kibbe body test. dont look in the mirror. i thought that i am a romantic or gamine, because i am small and i have small hands and feets. then i looked at my photos and noticed that i look more dense, squarish , wider shoulders. i am a soft natural :)

I do not appreciate that this system is so strongly attached to height. In my opinion it should rely on body proportions (i.e. torso length to leg length; head size compared to body; hips to waist ratio etc.) more than on height itself. It’s so weird to assume that certain body types strictly can or cannot be of a certain height.

Kibbe is so confusing to me. The best way to describe my body type is a dramatic (long arms and legs, angular) but with a very voluptuous middle section/hourglass figure. The thing that stumps me is the height. I am 5’9. When taking the original test, I came out with 4 C’s and 4 D’s, 3 A’s and 3 E’s. Which would either be a Theatrical Romantic or a Soft Natural but those are more shorter body types which throws me off.

Hello everybody, first I'm sorry if I make some grammar errors, English is not my first language. Howeever, I'm confused about being R or SN. These are my features Face:soft cheeks;really sogtly defined cheekbones; rounded but a bit more delicate jawline and chin; rounded, big, hooded and really sutbly upturned eyes; full, rounded lips with defined rounded cupids bow; smaller and short nose with wide and rounded tip (on plase where bone stops and catrilage starts my nose has a little dip, like 1or 2mm, not really noticable, but idk if that means it's irregular, naturaltype) Body: I'm short and look shortish on pictures, i have shortish, and fleshy limbs, my shoulders are sloped but tapered (also maybe wide, but I have really wide hips that are in perfect propotion to my shoulders, like perfect hourglass,so that is confusing me if I'm SN or R rather) I hace small waist (aprox. 25 cm narrower than my shoulders and hips, I have bigger chests (95C European size). Thank you so much if you read my comment, and I hope you and me will both find our bodytypes 😘

I have two pictures with Rihanna with her arm around me and although I didn’t get a picture with Beyoncé I’ve seen her right in front of me. Rihanna is all of 5’9. I agree Beyoncé may not be 5’7 she’s all of 5’6 still and “too tall” to be a romantic. Also Compare her to other celebrities that she’s taking photos with she’s tall not short. She has to hunch over to take a picture with 5’4 Britney Spears because she’s so much taller then her and they both wear high heels.

i have a really yin face (big eyes, soft, button nose, delicate-looking) and a sort of yang body, like 70% yang and 30% yin (long with long hands and big feet, and pointy shoulders, but oddly soft and short with a little waist- but even though i'm short my sister says i "look tall" :D.) i move and dress in a more gamine/yin way, though, if that makes sense? and it suits me, i think. i'm enough of a mixture that i can be versatile in how i dress :0

I think I'm natural but correct me if I'm wrong: 158 cm (I don't live in the US so I don't know how inches work), broad square shoulders, short torso leaning towards a more rectagle athletic-ish physique since my waist is not very noticeable. Almost no bust or butt. My legs are longer than my torso and they are quite muscular Loooong hands and feet. My fleshiest parts tend to be my arms and waist. I look like a square if I gain weight. My face has a round contour like an oval, straight brows and small crescent eyes. Round nose and fleshy small lips. People say I have a calm but youthful vibe and I'm often told I'm waaaay younger than I actually am.

I’m so confused . I am 5’10 so that basically narrows me down to two categories . I have to be dramatic I think . But I have smallish hands and feet. ( 6 1/2 and size 5 ring )I have never been able to figure out my face on this quiz but I know I have big eyes. I think my lips are neither full or super thin . I think my mouth is big though. I have a big forehead ( bangs for life lol!) I’ve never been able to figure out cheekbones but I know I don’t have chubby cheeks I’ve always thought my face can look thin but that could be just me ! I have a cleft chin if that matters . My body type if it’s a bust - waist- hip measurement is 39-28-40 so that says hourglass, so I guess that would be soft dramatic, but when I gain weight it’s like a pear, which says I’m in the classic category. I also am not muscular, and I feel like I’m “ fleshy” sinceo I had a baby last year, but I was leaner armed in my 20s I guess. But I’ve always had hips and boobs but boobs heavily fluctuate depending of weight. No idea about my shoulders. Honestly all the shoulders look the same to me lol! I have a long torso and long legs. Skinny legs but my upper thighs and upper arms are bigger since baby.

I took this and don't know what to think. I've taken this quiz on 4 different sites and watched videos and I'm such a weird blend I have no idea. I got my even got my husband's help to be objective and I came out with 5 Es, 5Cs and 4Bs. What the hell am I? I'm also fairly certain I'm an hourglass (38.29,38) but I don't know what an hourglass versus a true hourglass means. So I'm a little unsure on the qualifiers for some of these.

You assume that one's arms and legs belong in the same body type. Arms belong more with your torso opposed to with your legs. If your torso is flat, skinny and bony regardless of weight, then your arms will be too. Regardless of your legs. Excess fat on your thighs is most times opposite to excess fat on arms (unless you are very overweight), but you group them together.

"Naturals" have "width" in their bone structure (do you have broad shoulders?), and they are more Yang than "Classics". Classics are known for being symmetric, with their face and bone structure.

As I age my cheek flesh on prominent cheekbones went from natural to more angular but my nose is a soft natural . I'm having a hard time pinpointing what I am after kids . This is helping some. Im 5'8.5" broad thin but lithe muscled shouldered, small bust , flat side hip , large hands and feet but small bones tend to gain weight around the tummy and upper thigh and need help getting my type right
