Hey there are calculations and formulas to work out shoulders, armhole and so forth, that’s what I have done

This was so helpful. I have a question though. If let’s say the ‘competitors’ you choose, some have ranges to their sizes. Eg. Small 34-35 (bust), 26-27 (waist) and 35-37 (hips). When finding the average and including a competitor like this one, which number from the range should I choose to calculate the ‘average’?

so true because i'm a Uk shoe size 8 but i'm a US shoe size 9.5 - 10 according to the style of shoes. clothing size has always been a problem for me, hence my interest in learning how to sew my own clothes which will be tailored to fit my body.

Hi Kim. Thanks for the video it has given me a good insight but my question now is how do I know where to put the measurements ie bust, waist and hip. I mean where should the half length be? Where should the bust be and also the hip? Some ladies’ bust point can be 9” from the shoulder or 10”. How do I mark them. Also the shoulder measurement for different sizes how do i determine it? I will be glad to get a reply

To make matters more confusing, European sizes come in short-regular-tall as well. 20, 40, and 80 are the same size in term of bust and hip measurement, but their spacing on the pattern is different, with 20 being for short women, 40 for regular / average height, and 80 for tall women.

Yes you can! You can have a size chart for a style that is more form fitting and another for a looser fit. You can also have different height options too (petite, regular, tall)
