Brian this is a fantastic video! With the few people I've "trained" for disc golf this shot area is always the hardest to teach! This will help my wife immensely! What a great series thank you for your effort and time!

It happens in traditional golf as well. We call it deceleration inconsistency. We always teach minimizing the backswing but always accelerating at the target. Even on a chip shot where the club moves 6 inches back, we always accelerate to the target. Love to see it carries over to my disc golf game!

This series is sick. More bearhart content. It has been cool to see him develop as a disc golf mechanics coach.

Great info! I worked very hard this summer dialing in my 200 foot and in approach. Definitely listen to this man. He knows his stuff.

I needed this. I either had full power backhand form that I tried to slow down to 50%, or putting. I had a hard time with that in between range. 150-200 is difficult for me without that proper touch.

This is by far the best series made by anyone to help us AMs.- Brian is absolutely fantastic.- There needs to be a hall of fame for best media/coach type professional so that Brian can win it.- Actually, just create some sort of award and name it after him... Anyway, question... when you say practice the approach with a full X-step at different speeds, are you saying the same speed as if I were throwing off a tee as well? Or do you mean up to the max speed that would be considered appropriate for the distance of the approach shot?... And as for what I'm working on, my biggest thing I'm working on right now is a 3-parter: Stop collapsing the space on my "pull through" (yes I know... I'm not actually pulling)... Staying level throughout the whole rotation and "pull through"... Engaging my lower half in the throw...

I enjoyed the thorough presentation. At what point, do we change discs? Of course, pay attention to the lie, i.e. above or below the target, wind, obstacles, and ceiling height.

I was just talking about this on the course the other day. That distance between a jump putt but it's not a full throw. Got it down on the forehand with my Rhynos and Pa2 but the backhand is still tough. Thanks for the clarity! Keep this coming! Can you make a video talking about how to aim on the forehand?

For those who want to skip ahead: 1:09 - Get jacked on 'roids so everything under 600 feet is a putt 3:24 - For shots longer than 600, take a few bumps of coke to power up 5:18 - For really tricky S-shots, disguise a drone as a disc and hope people don't notice 7:03 - Put a really big muffler on your chainsaw so people don't hear you cutting all the trees at the disc golf course at night 8:32 - Learn how to backflip to add extra power and accuracy to your throw 9:58 - Put wheels on your discs so they get more distance on the ground 11:05 - Keep a flask of whisky handy to calm your nerves on high-pressure shots 12:01 - Remember, even if you don't do very well, at least you're not Miley Cyrus, so you'll be okay

coming from ultimate and freestyle this is the part of disc golf that I find effortless, I would say just throwing around discs in the park or playing ultimate will make this an easy part of disc golf.

Such a great video! So many players give up strokes by not being able to get up and down within 250ft of the basket.

This convinced me to completely ditch my zone and berg a few months. They are a crutch my forehand approach style has relied on. I will get understable putter and only throw backhand approaches. It is weird cause I prefer backhand off the tee but anything 250-280 ft and in I don't trust it cause I have always preferred the turnover for hand approach shot.

I switched from approaching with a zone to a beaten in comet, zone is great to have for skips and wind but it's nice and relaxing just gently tossing the comet

@@subspaceanomaly my approach has always been throw the disc I can have full power behind and not go past. I like the zone and berg for that reason. Realistically though long-term finesse saves the forehand.

I just pretend that the basket is a friend I am playing catch with if I need to do a backhand approach, works really great! Other than that I do everything in my power to forehand that approach😂
