Excellent example of expanding one's vocabulary. I have asked many jazz musicians how do you get so good at improvisation and they all say transcribing. However, your example has really cemented what they were trying to say to me. Thanks for the great example and a good thumbs up.

Yeah, you transcribe FIRST. Then, you take what you transcribed and usethe content wherever you can on other tunes.

As ever, this is great insight! Working out the 2 licks you shared & then moving them from piano to sax is highly motivational. At my level I'm learning the first one as an 8th note lick over a long min II V. I had one question about the first lick Sir- when you hear/play the lick are you just thinking the short Dmin ii V cadence , or do you think/ hear each chord?

Hey man amazing stuff, I’d like to make a suggestion, why not set up 2 mics for your recordings? One overhead for your voice and another lower for your sax, that way we can hear you clearly all the time, Cheers from the Caribbean🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹

Hello sir, what notes are you playing?

The best thing to do is use the settings wheel on the KZbin player on the bottom right and slow down the speed so you can learn it that way.
